Sunday, December 21
My morning, didn't really turn out so peaceful. It has only been around 12 hours since my dad left us and my mom was crying in her bed, her back facing me. I sigh, walking around the queen sized bed. "Mom, please stop crying, everything's going to be alright." I assure her, she nods, "I know, I'm just letting out the emotions." She says, "I know it's okay, he'll come back I'm sure of it."
"I'm sup-pose to say that to y-ou." She hiccups, I rub her shoulder. "I'm going to go out for a run, will you be okay?" I ask, usually I exercise on Sundays for like an hour or so. Sometimes I rather forget to and just spend the day cleaning or I just don't do it. Yeah I know, I need some motivation, maybe like a fishing pole tied to the back of my pants and a Nutella jar hanging from the string in front of me. That would help.Naa too much work.
"Yes, I'll be okay. Take Lily out too." She says while wiping her tear stained face. I mutter an okay, and walk out of the room also closing the door so she could get ready.

I walk out into the crisp air, the sun seeping through the tree's green leaves and branches. My music, playing through my earbuds, made me cheerful. I smiled, the wonders of how quickly music can change my mood instantly. Slowly, I transitioned to a walking pace, I am already panting. "Geez, I need to run more." I breathe out, and put my hand on my hip. Lily runs around in the sun and pulling me forward. "Lily!" I shout, then my music was interrupted with my ringtone. I take it out of my pocket and see that it's Lili. I answer,
"Hello?"
"Hey!"
"What's up?"
"Lunch at noon with Me and Beth?"
"Sure, where?"
"Oh, right! Um... Just come over to Beth's mom's house."
"Okay sounds good, I'll be there in 20"
"Okay, see ya later. Bye Iza."
"You too, bye Lili."I end the call and my music continues to play.

I ran for a good 20 more minutes and started back home. On my way there I could see Alex, walking towards me with his head down. I run faster up to him and Lily starts to bark and he finally notices me. "Hey Alex... can we talk?" I said, "Okay." He replies, "Well not here, here come to my house." I said and we both walked together back to my house. I felt gross, I was very sweaty and it was kind of chilly outside. So I was cold, sticky and sweaty. I open the door and take Lily's leash off. "Okay, I'll be right back I have to go wash up. So yeah." I said to Alex and walk up the stairs skipping every step. I take off my sweaty clothes and put on casual gray v neck t-shirt, a cream colored cardigan and black leggings. I wash my face and pat it down with oil wipes. Throwing my hair into a ponytail sort of bun. I look in the mirror to double check on how I look. Then, I run back downstairs and see that my mom and him are talking about noodles. "Hey! What do you know, my mom and Alex are talking over noodles. By the way mom I'm going to Beth's for lunch, could I borrow your car?" I ask my mom, "I'm going out soon too, ask your brother I don't think he has anywhere to go." She says and I nod. "Well, Alex and I are going to hang for a bit, see ya later mom!" I say, while ushering Alex outside. She waves and I close the front door. "Sorry about my mom if she scared you." I said, not that shes scary..., "No, it's fine." Alex says, I sat down on one of my porch chairs and he sat down too. "Okay, so I just want to know why keep avoiding me? Have I done anything wrong?" I say, he looks at me in the eye. "I like you Iza but... I wasn't trying to avoid you like that. I just backed off because you have Brandon already." He said, mumbling the last few words. "You think I'm dating Brandon?" He nods, "Oh..." I said quietly, He sighs and gets up, "I should probably go."
"Wait!" I grab his wrist, then I saw... scars across his wrist some of them are just scabs. Before I could stare any longer, he whips his arm back. "Iza, I can't stay I-I have to go." He says quickly, "No Alex, please..." I plead, he turns back at me. "What do you want me to say? I'm single, your taken. It's not going to work out so... why even try?" He says, I step closer and put both of my hands against both sides of his face. I look in his brown eyes, they were full of sadness, anger, confused. Then I press my lips against his, he kissed back. My hands moved to the back of his neck and his moved to my waist. I step back, "Does that tell you I'm taken?" I say barely over a whisper.
