After the rest of Hunter's gang got all the other students out of the way, they picked up Hunter's limp body and raced out the front doors of the school with me right behind them carrying all of Hunter's stuff.
I opened the door to the backseat of the car, got in the back, and Daniel laid Hunter's head on my lap because we had to elevate his head until we got to the hospital.
I played with Hunter's soft curly hair, running my fingers through it just like he had to me whenever I was sick or hurt.
Tears were streaming down my face, as I started to think about what if Hunter didn't make it?! I didn't even have a clue on how I could survive without the guidance of my older brother. Hunter made sure to always include me in almost everything he did.
He was always there for me when I needed him the most:
after my first physical fight
when I was crying over my toxic first and last relationship
and a bunch of other things.
And now it felt like my heart had been ripped out of my chest and broken to pieces.
" We're here", Daniel broke the silence as he unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car along with Colton.
They carefully carried Hunter's body over to the awaiting team of doctors and nurses who had a bed on wheels prepared for him.
" Name of the patient?", one of the nurses asked.
" Hunter Reynolds", I replied.
" And who are you?"
" Harley Reynolds, his younger sister".
After a few more questions the nurse-led us inside of the hospital and into the room where they had already placed Hunter.
" The doctor said he is stable, but just needs to rest", She reported before leaving us alone with Hunter and the machines around him.
