"i like him, and it's weird because it's been so long since— well you know, him."
"yeah i know, you took that really badly."
i wonder why.
"yeah, but the thing is that we just have so much in common! and i felt a connection when we talked that one time and i just feel like we can really relate to each other if we tried and—" yeonji rambled.
she was just conflicted with the rising feelings that she found herself catching for. it was foreign to her because of the given time period of it just being her. she didn't know what it was like to like someone again.
"that's nice, i'm happy for you yeonji" seonhee replied. "i have something to tell you too— oh wait someone's calling me, let me call you back!"
and the call ended. the notification of a text message popped up immediately after.
sheonhee ;)): stay up for me! i'll call you later
...
me: hey? done yet?
sheonhee ;)): just a few more minutes!me: hey, it's getting late and we have work in the morning, just catch me up then.
sheonhee ;)): sounds good-
yeonji's shift finally ended after spending seven awful hours there. she was a closer, so naturally she was one of the few people left to clean up after the store. it was just a simple cafe, a place where college students like herself came to to do homework, or where couples came for dates."good job today yeonji, i'll see you tomorrow!" her coworker said as they both exited the building. bidding goodbyes and waves, yeonji set her way to the bus stop and the end of the street.
in a few minutes with no doubt, yeonji hops onto the bus, paying the fee, and sat down. the bus wasn't packed, nor were there enough seats though. the bus consisted of many males that probably attended her university too.
when the bus came to a stop, more people showed up. observing but not seeking, yeonji noticed an old woman struggling to stand up with there not being enough open seatings.
with no words, she nonchalantly gets up from her seat, allowing the now open space. without knowing, the grandma sees that there was now an empty space, not knowing who was occupying it before. thankful though, she took the seat.
for yeonji, this was rewarding. the small things meant so much for her. behind her though, he also smiled.

"glad today's over gosh, i'm so tired" aeran, yeonji's roommate, said.
yeonji chuckled.
"who told you to stay out past midnight for that frat party.""ugh, don't remind me love" she grunted, rubbing her head from reminiscing the memories last night.
"at least you had though, right?"
"the best party this whole year—" and she began in her whole journey about the night before.
aeran and yeonji have been roommates in the dorms since their freshman year of college. now they were in their senior year of college, making them now lifelong besties because yeonji doesn't interact with no one else. but truly throughout the years, the girls grew closer making them inseparable.
"are you hungry? because i sure am, wanna grab something quick before returning back to the dorms?" yeonji suggested, making aeran give her a questionable look.
"well you see, i was kind of invited out to eat with the guys..." she explained. "i mean i can always cancel!"
she violently shaked her head before giving her roommate a straight face.
"go, don't let me keep you from going my love"
