Chapter 15

Anastasia's pov:

We jogged our way home.

I see mom having coffee, I don't wait for Brett I go to the room to have a quick shower and get ready for school.

They say hot water reduces stress, and I love hot showers, but today it didn't seem to change anything.

I change and I wear a dress, and yellow sleevless dress and wear a white cardigan over it. I covered my dark circles, I wore some mascara and eyeliner and a lip gloss and voila.

I saw Brett in the hallway, he just looked as miserable as me. He gave a fake smile and I returned it.

Dad and Shawn were no where to be seen. We didn't even ask mum.

She gave us coffee and a sandwich.
This was the most silent breakfast we've had.

"Dad's asked us to come home straight from school." Brett told me and I silently agreed. I took the keys to my new car, I think I deserve to drive myself to school, since I carry my blades with me.

"Aren't you coming with me?" He asked me, I looked at him and said to him,"I need my space." I said to him. "Aren't you curious who our secret bodyguards are?" I asked him. "Yeah, I have a strategy, check out people who are staring at us from a distance." He said. "Sounds like a plan, see you after school." I said and ran to my fancy new car.

It was a smooth ride.

I parked. And ran to school, I search for Nina, but I end up staring at Mason, who was looking at me back. I have to confront him about last night. I walk up to him and say,"Hey, why'd you run of like that?" I say to him and he stares at his feet and says dryly,"Uhh I make out with a lot of girls, it's not a big deal, I didn't want you to think I like you or something." He says.

So much for having a good day.

"Yeah cool." I say and turn around to walk away from him and I clash into someone, God what is it with me and running into people?

"Oh shit, let me help you with that." I say and start picking his books,"yeah it's fine." I look at him and he looks at me.

OH GOD,ALEX!!!

"I'm sorry." I say to him and he looks at me and smiles at me, and say,"apology not accepted, I believe you owe me a coffee date." He says and chews his lower lip, and I smile and I say,"I believe the cafeteria has coffee." I say, flirting when you're not interested is so hard. We turn to walk up to the cafeteria but I see Mason's face and he has clenched his jaw, I'm pretty sure he is going to kill someone.

We walk up to the cafeteria, trying to find Nina, but I can't find her, I end up seeing Brett who is sitting right across me, and shows me his phone, hinting me to check the messages.

'There's a man staring at you, he is standing near the water filter.'

'Who's the guy you're with, never seen him here before.'

I turn around as though I'm stretching to find the mysterious guy and end up finding Mason staring at Alex, God what is with this guy.

I text Brett back,'There's no one there and His name is Alex.'

'Ever heard of stranger danger.' He texts me and I ignore him.

"You seem distracted." Alex says, I almost forget I'm on a date or something like that, so I smile and say," No, I was just thinking about Nina, have you seen her?" I ask him and he frowns and says,"What's a nice girl like you doing with Nina?" He says.

That's bitter. I plastered a smile on face and asked," What do you mean?" And he says to me," I mean Nina is mean, she just stays with people where she thinks she might benefit from, honestly, I always had a crush on you, but I always thought you were out of my league, so I asked Nina out to get close to you, and she dumped me." He says to which my blood boils. I love coffee, but why not use it for a greater purpose, so I threw it at him and said,"So much for Nina using people." And walked away.

Tell me about a date gone bad, as I walked out I could hear people cheering me, I say Mason smile as I walked out.
