Closer and Closer

Zain wasted the day by listening to the radio and waited for the sun to go down. He got the time off Alexa and headed out with Shepard. He exited his home and walked down the path which was now lit up with the streetlights. The nightlife of the city was just starting to pick up, but where Zain was heading, no one would hear the screams of the woman he was about to visit. Zain coughed a couple of times as he crossed the street; he could smell the fumes. "What an awful place, eh Shepard?", he asked the dog who was whimpering with excitement. Zain put his hand out and felt the chain-link fence and wondered if he was at the right place. "Alexa", he whispered into his watch, "What's the address of Longines waste plant?". It took a couple of seconds for Alexa to respond, "14 Acre Lane, Nova Street, Paravesha. You are standing right outside it". Zain smiled, "Excellent", he said. Zain took a deep breath and slid his hand along the chain-link fence and walked, waiting to feel an entrance. He walked for a couple of seconds and then felt a gap. He squeezed through the gap and Shepard followed. "Come on, Shepard", Zain said, "Let's go and have a nice chat". 

36-year-old Tanya Sullivan was in her office doing paperwork before she headed home for the day. She had a couple of forms to sign off on so she thought she'd fill them out before she returned to her son and husband. Tanya heard a loud slam and a crash from below her as her office was on the second floor. It made her jump out of her skin and she headed out of her office to investigate. "Hello?", Tanya shouted down, her voice echoing. Tanya got no answer, instead, she got silence. "Haha, very funny Paul", she called out, "Knock it off, you scared the shit out of me". Tanya returned to her office and closed the door and then she heard the sound again and this time Tanya raced down the stairs to investigate. "Paul, I told you to stop", she said as she turned the corner and saw Zain and Shepard. "Hello", Zain said, giving a small smile, "We haven't formally met. I'm Zain and your organisation killed my brother. I'm here to kill you". Tanya froze where she stood and tears started forming in her eyes. "Pl-ple-please", she stuttered, "I have a family". Zain shook his head, "I had family too until you killed him so there's no point in playing that card, honey". Tanya and to her knees, Zain started choking her and he snapped the bones in the neck and crushed her windpipe. "Another one bites the dust, huh Shepard?", Zain said, leaving her body down. The end was getting closer and closer.
