GuP: The battle for love [Male Reader x Koume]

the basics

It was another day in the morning, koume stood there, waiting infront of her panther, as the wind blows across the tank range, she smiles to herself as karl approaches her,

"Im here~" he said with a smile

"Im glad you came... come, Follow me karl," koume said as she held Karl's hand leading him inside the panther

"I would be excited but.. I've been inside so many but I've never done anything but fix stuff inside of them," karl said to himself as he nervously enters the panther

"Anna, load the gun." Koume ordered one of her crew to load the panther's canon, the breach closes and koume began to guide karl,

"Now, there should be a target right around 500 meters away from here.." koume muttered

"Spotted it." Karl called out.

Karl took a deep breath as he aims at the target, he hesitated to pull the trigger as he felt that everyone was staring down at him, judging his every move.

"Okay.. *click*"

a surge of recoil travels through his body as the shell wizzed off the target as his eyes widened when he realized he missed by a long shot.

"uff, he missed completely." One of the spotter on top of the turret,

"It's okay, it's okay karl. It's just practice, nothing else." Koume reassures karl, as she calms him down

the loader loads in another shell and closes the breach, karl looked through the scope once again as he quickly spotted the target again, he puts his fingers on the trigger again and..

*Click*

...

"DIRECT HIT!" the spotter said as the target exploded into pieces,

"Well done karl!~" koume said excitedly, karl looked around as he realized he scored a perfect hit on the target down the range,

"Ok, continue~" Koume said as her crew looked upon karl with a smirk

"Oh Gott..." Karl muttered

"When.. are we going.. to be done here..?" Karl, clearly exhausted complained to the loader,

"Well, we're done here." The loader said as she exited the tank as koume held karl's shoulder and congratulates  karl on his training

"That was very good for your first time! You've missed a few shots but you'll get the hang of it~" she exclaims

"Yeah, its been awhile since i shot something.."

"What.. do you mean...?"

"Well, im actually a gunner for a Panzer II, then.. i got reassigned to some.. panzer III M. as a loader. And then a mechanic. I still dont know why..." He sighs to himself

"Hm, well then.. anyways, good job for your first day karl! Im sure kurt will be proud~ you have the skills of a marksman!" koume said enthusiastically, which flustered karl.

"T-thank... I guess.."

As the two was busy together, maho and erika approached the two

"Well done karl." Said maho while clapping her hands,

"I expected more since he's kurt's brother. That was pathetic on my part, but he has some potential s" erika commented.

"I suppose.." karl muttered as he sighs,

Kurt came into the range and notices the three.

"Heard something down the range, Turns out it was you guys." He said to himself as he approaches them

"Well it was actually me." Karl muttered

"Nice shooting." Said kurt as he pats the back of karl's back

"Well im gonna get going now, sorry for anything i did or say wrong and bye everyone see ya." Karl sighs as he exited the range,

"Well that was rude, i just got here :(" Kurt said as he sees karl walking away

Timeskip

Karl fiddles with his hands as he sat alone in the cafeteria, a familiar face sat besides him, it was merrick. He greets karl as he sat down besides him

"Uhh.. hey, i gotta ask you something" merrick said to an occupied karl

"Yea what is it?" Karl said with a mouthful

"Saw you with one of the tank commanders you know, and.."

"Oh that, yeah it was like basic trainings for me, feels kinda weird since i technically already passed a year ago," karl muttered

"Does this means we cant be friends anymore?" Said merrick as he continues with a big sigh

"W-what? No no no ofcourse not! You're still my buddy man. We can still see eachother oftenly since were neighbors, hell. I would let you drive the tanks if you want, I'd probably get punished in some way buy hey." Karl reassures his friend as he pats merrick in the back, merrick gave a sigh of relieve as he jokingly punched Karl in the arm.

"Thanks man. You're always the best. Anyways im gonna go. See ya bud."

"See ya."

Timeskip

Karl's locker slamed shut as he packs up his stuff up and hoisted his backpack up to his back

"Fick mich it's heavy" said karl as he walked up the corridor, as he was walking he wondered to himself,

"I Wonder where kurt and everyone's at, probably doing some kuromarine stuff.."

Its been a long day and karl yawns as he walked through the school's gates at the end of the day, he considers himself lucky. Getting into the kuromarine team isn't that easy and koume's crew took quite a liking to him.

"W-wait!" A voice called out to him

"Koume?"

"You're.. *huff* in.." she said while trying to catch her breath.

"What do you mean?" Said karl with a confused expression.

"I was told during my briefing.. We're going to play in the next match!" Said koume with a cheerful expression

"R-really?!"

The two smiles to eachother while celebrating this exciting event,

"Well, getting pretty late, guess we're parting ways,"

"O-oh, yeah.. see you tomorrow!~"

"Yeah.. you too.." karl said as he said farewell to his friend.
