"Are you insane?", the Adeptus held (y/n) close to his chest, his eyes slightly widened as he stared at her.
"You could've died there", he continued frowning, referring to her suicidal action from just a few moments ago.
To her own luck, Xiao had heard her call and caught her mid air. (y/n) felt a little warmth rise up her cheeks, as she looked back into his yellow eyes, realizing how close they were.
Small clouds that were similar to fog appeared, as he breathed out in the cold air. Xiao blinked a few times, his hair messily falling over his eyes before he quickly avoided her gaze, feeling almost embarrassed about the situation.
(y/n) gently freed herself from his grip before anything weird could happen, as they were now on the ground again. She lightly smiled at him, still feeling a little warm on the inside. "But I didn't, did I?"
Xiao just silently stared at her in response, before turning around to a path nearby, that led to the 'exit' of Dragonspine. "Did you at least get the thing we came here for?"
(y/n) quickly brushed some snow off her winter coat, before she nodded and showed him the bag with Star Silver in her hand.
The Adeptus let out a pleased sigh, relieved that she didn't forget it on the mountain, then pointed his chin towards the path again.
"Let's hurry and get back to Liyue, if that was all"
(y/n) agreed with a nod once again. As she followed her companion through the thick snow, a little disappointment made its way through her body as she had hoped to maybe meet Albedo or Sucrose on their trip here.
                              ————
The female placed the ore on a workbench next to a wooden box in the forge, where all the so far collected materials were stored in: Cor Lapis, the blades she got from Childe, Jade and other stuff they had collected over the time.
She had returned the black winter coat back to its owner, Hu Tao, earlier and was now -finally- finishing the preparations for the polearm.
It was late by the time Xiao and (y/n) had returned to Liyue Harbor, so there wasn't really anything to do anymore as the girl was pretty exhausted from their trip.
Xiao quietly sat on a bench nearby and dozed off, absently staring at the fire that was burning nearby. It felt a little strange for him to just sit around and do nothing.
Usually he wandered around Liyue, fighting to protect the nation Rex Lapis resided in, never having any time to rest. But now, without a weapon he wasn't able to do any of that.
But not only that, seeing the Archon be so friendly with a mortal like her, had caught him off guard a little.
He let his gaze wander over to (y/n) before slowly closing his eyes, inwardly wondering why Rex Lapis and Barbatos were so welcoming towards her.
If only he knew that there was no reason, other than the bard wanting to get on the Geo Archons nerves by introducing him to a little girl he randomly met in Mondstadt. Though it was a little surprising, when the older male took a liking to the child and even took her to his favorite places in Liyue. But that's for another time..
                              ————
(y/n) finished preparing the materials for tomorrow's plans (finally starting to actually make the weapon), letting out a yawn as it was already pretty late.
She stretched her back in relish, feeling little cracks as she did so. The familiar smell of fire crept up her nose, as gentle moonlight lit up the streets around.
Only a few days left until i return to Mondstadt..
She remembered Kaeyas stolen Moonpie and mentally noted to eat it the next morning- or throw it away, who knows.
(y/n) was about to make her way to her house, when she noticed a familiar figure napping on a bench nearby. It was no other than the Adeptus, that had practically saved her life today.
A small smile made its way to her lips, as she quietly admired Xiaos sleeping face. Normally the Adeptus always left again, as soon as they were done with the tasks for the day.
(y/n) debated whether to wake him up or not, as the Yaksha looked quite peaceful while napping.
The bottom half of his face was buried in his arms that were resting on the table in front of him, while his dark hair slightly covered his closed eyes.
(y/n) remembered his usual expression, that was somehow always a little bad-tempered. He wasn't the most talk-active person either, not that she minded in any way.
It was, in a way, even relaxing to just quietly walk around together in comfortable silence.
Letting out a little chuckle on the inside, she decided to just let him rest, before she made her way to her house to get ready for the night as well.
Somehow she couldn't believe that the time here had passed so quickly; just a couple more days, until she had to leave Liyue again. (y/n) already missed the friends she made here, though the thought of her family waiting in Mondstadt, made her heart jump a little as well.
