"Isn't he a beauty, my boy? Freshly caught from the Monster Realm itself." Dr. Martini announced to his son. Arlo, being the curious boy he was, pressed his face against the glass, trying to get a better view of the creature. Dr. Martini chuckled.
"He looks like a dangerous one, father. How exactly did they manage to capture him?" Arlo pondered, his tail wagging with excitement.
"That's a secret, my boy. I will tell you when you're older." Dr. Martini replied, ruffling Arlo's hair. His watch soon beeped, him looking down at it.
"And that's my queue. I gotta go to a meeting, my son. Make sure that you check on Sako. I'll see you in a few hours." Dr. Martini waved goodbye to Arlo, exiting the room. Arlo sighed happily, staring a bit longer at the new containment. It paced along the walls of its chamber, its tail flicking in discomfort. Arlo then exited the room, leaning on the wall outside of the observation room.
"What a strange creature..." He said to himself. "Hopefully he doesn't break out..." He walked down the hallway down to a particular chamber, using his key card to open the door. The guards greeted him, allowing him to enter the chamber of the creature he was visiting. It was rather dim in the room, Arlo looking around.
"Sako! Where are ya, buddy?" He called out. No response.
"Hmm... Odd. He normally comes when I-" he paused, feeling something brush against the back of his knee. He giggled.
"S-sako hehehe quit it!" There was a soft, playful growl that came from behind Arlo, Sako jumping on Arlo and purring.
"Hehe. Hey buddy." Arlo greeted, petting the dragon hounds back. "You wanna go outside? I know you've been cooped up in here for hours." Sako's ears perked up at the word 'outside'."You do?" Arlo asked. Sako nodded, bolting towards the door. Arlo attached Sako's leash onto his collar, opening the door. Sako nearly ripped Arlo's arm off.
"Jeez! Take it easy, bud!" Sako whimpered happily, pulling Arlo out of his chamber and into the hallway. He calmed down after that, Arlo looking at him strangely.
"Was that necessary?" Arlo rustled Sako's head, Sako wagging his tail.
"Let's head to the roof. I know you like to get that fresh air from there." Arlo suggested, walking over to the elevator. Sako followed him, hopping slightly as he walked. They took the elevator to the rooftop, Arlo removing the leash from Sako's collar when they reached the floor. When the door opened, they both walked out, Arlo going over to his usual spot.
"It's nice up here, isn't it bud?" Arlo asked, Sako nodding and crawling into Arlo's lap. Arlo sighed happily.
"I wish she was here..." Sako looked at Arlo, whimpering softly. "I know you miss her too, bud. Let's just hope that she visits soon..."
Sako nipped at Arlo's hand playfully. Arlo jumped a bit.
"Aye! What was that for?" He chuckled. Sako wagged his tail, barking at Arlo and nipping at his arm. Arlo playfully pushed Sako back, Sako sliding backward. He barked at Arlo again, play-bowing at him.
