Special Chapter 1: That Annoying Letter
April 6, 20XX
Far from the average Spring, the sun was hot early in the morning. If classes were still on at this time, the students would surely think twice if it's already the time for their summer uniforms.
In fact, it had been years since the government moved the classes at June. But the people was already used on calling the school break a 'Summer Break', so whatever since the sun's agreeing with them, it was a Summer break.
“Why do I need to go here?”
A man in his twenties turned his head and looked at the young guy who just came.
“I was planning to have a good sleep the whole break, Matt. Seriously.” The young guy annoyingly scratched his ears as he fixed the blue headphone's position around his neck.
The man, named Matt, heaved a sigh.
“Didn't you tell me you wanted to try something new?” Matt asked him. “You always want to try something new and go anywhere you want.”
Matt took a few steps near the young guy, who was looking annoyed.
“So why will you spend a whole break sleeping . . . ” Matt asked and took a long pause, “. . . Nathan?” he added.
Nathan didn't speak and just stared at him. He frowned, pouted his lips and blew upwards which moved the few hair on his forehead.
“Sleeping the whole break is something new,” he simply said. “I want to try it.”
A moment of silence passed before a loud noise broke it.
“I-it hurts!”
It was the noise of Matt hitting Nathan's head with a thick folder.
“Don't try your tricks on me. Complain again and I'll be the one to make you sleep not just for the whole break, but in your entire life,” Matt threatened him as he started walking away.
Nathan's eyes went wide as he massaged his head. “Scary!”

“Welcome, new guy!”
Nathan bowed and greeted back all the staffs who welcomed him. They were all friendly and cheery. That somehow made him feel glad after arguing with his big brother.
Most of the staffs were students he saw in his school. They were probably part timing or volunteering since it's already the school break.
After a few minutes of doing so, he sat on a chair in a cubicle Matt led him to.
“So what do we have here?” he whispered.
He picked up a notebook and opened it. “Notebooks.” He frowned. “Why will I use them?” he asked.
He placed the notebook back on where he got it and continued checking the things around. He just stopped doing so when he saw lots of envelopes and papers inside the drawer of his desk.
He picked one paper up. “Right. I'll be writing letters soon, and answering phone calls,” he said.
He turned his head around and looked at a bottle of ink and a feather on his desk.
“Well, seriously?” he asked. “Are we still in the 6th century or something to use quills?” he added.
—
Several minutes had already passed and some of the staffs already began working. Nathan could hear them talking to the phone or see them writing something.
