"As some of you know my name is Mr. Morgan and I will be your AP Chemistry teacher for this year." He started writing his name in the white board in the middle of the room.
"Now, what should we start with... Ah why don't you guys introduce yourself?" He started by pointing at a guy with red hair and glasses. He stood up and started to introduce himself. His name was Rusty Blumber. Ha, interesting name. Row by row went by and then it was Derricks turn, so he stood up and started talking.
" My name is Derrick Grant, I've been at this school for two years and I just moved, so now I'm a bit closer to school." As I looked around I realized that every girl was drooling... LITERALLY! Well looks like we have our new 'hottest guy in the class.' Arg this is going to be great when all the other girls get jealous because I'm just his friend. I realized that Derricks turn was done when elbowed me in the ribs.
"Ow! Oh...Uh right." I stood up and started to introduce myself, "My name is Mackenzie Halls, some of you may already know me but if you don't, well here I am. I've been at this school since middle school and I plan on graduating from here."
"Thank you Mackenzie, nice to meet you. Now next." A girl next to me stood up and I realized it was Sarah, but why didn't she say hi to me when she sat down? And why didn't she pick me up this morning?
"Hi, my name is Sarah Newman, I too have been here since middle school. I was born and raised here and I hope to finish this year off strong as all my other years have ended." Jeez she's like my best friend but some stuff about her just ticks me off. Sarah sat down so posh like it was so fake.
"Hey" I nudged her in the shoulder, "why did you say hi or pick me up this morning?"
"Oh sorry I thought you were someone else until you said your name, did you do something to your hair?" She laughed.
"Um yeah, you saw it over summer. You actually came with me to get it done." I was really confused as to why she was acting like this.
"Right sorry, I just didn't realize you had a boyfriend either."
I exploded with laughter. "BOYFRIEND! No. No. No. No, he's my friends... Well new friends. He brought me to school today."
"Right... "friends"..." She figured quotation marks and she said "friends". Jeez why is she being like this, this is not that Sarah I was hanging out with this summer.
"What's your problem Sarah, you seem... different"
"I don't have a problem, this is just the new me"
"Pft new y..." I was cut off by Mr. Morgan scolding us.
"Girls, would you like to stop your little gossip session, we all know this dress is cute and that guy is cute and ladidadida, now can I continue with my lesson?" Mr. Morgan was staring at us with his glasses on his nose. "Yes sir." We both said feeling embarrassed.

Finally first period was over and we had a five minuted break to get to our locker and hang out till the bell rang for second period. I started walking to my locker when someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around to see Derrick.
"Hey, whats up?" I said turning around continuing towards my locker.
"I was calling you, our lockers are in the same direction and i didn't want to walk alone." I nodded and we continued to walk towards our lockers. I walked up to my locker and started putting in my combination, and Derrick leaned on the locker next to me.
I laughed, "What are you doing?" He looked at me and smiled, "What? I'm just waiting, we have all the same classes today... Remember?" I nodded and pulled my English books out.
"What I meant, why are you doing that typical high school thing all guys do in the movies. You know leaning on lockers." He looked at me and laughed.
"So Mackenzie this is reality, not a movie. We lean on lockers because standing gets tiring."
"Right!" I said laughing and closed my locker. He stood up and started walking towards his locker and I followed. I leaned on the locker next to his and laughed.
He looked at me and grinned, "What?" I shook my head. "Nothing" I looked up at him through my hair.
"You know your beautiful?" He said as he pulled out his English books. I looked at my feet "Nah, I'm average." He closed his locker and turned to me,
"Has anyone ever told you that?" I shook my head no.
"Well now someone has, and remember that."
I smiled, "Why are you telling me this all of a sudden?" We started walking and I glanced at him sideways looking for a response.
"I guess I just speak my mind sometimes." He said looking forward and smiling. I looked forward and we went on to our next class.
