Derrick and I walked side by side into school. It was a new year, so new classes. We both went to the office to pick up our schedules and headed towards the auditorium where we would go find our first period teachers. Turns out Derrick has the same classes as me, accept P.E.

"So what's the name of the teacher for AP Chem?" Derrick asked as we walked around the room to find a seat.

"Mr. Morgan for Chem." I said after we sat down. Finally after a couple of minutes the seats were all filled with high schoolers. They all started to quiet down but you could still hear them shuffling in their seats.

Someone in a dark suit, glasses, and a ponytail tied tight at the back of her head walked up onto the stage.

"Hello fellow students!" Her voice echoed, "I am y'all's new principal due to last year's incident. My name is Regina Whitman, but y'all just call me Regina." She started to pace back and forth on the stage with her hands behind her back. She had a very big, projectile voice.

"Now y'all know the school rules right?" She asked the crowd and they yelled, "YESSS!"

"Okay good. This is a new year for everyone, we have new students and old. We need to help those new student's, make them feel welcome, make them feel as if they were already part of this school." She went on and on about the school and I was starting to fall asleep but Derrick shook me when she started talking about sports.

"Sports, I'm guessing is what most of y'all are really looking forward to, right?" The crowd of high schoolers roared.

"Well this is your lucky year, we will be providing more sports than you had last year, and tournaments." The students were all on their feet now, cheering.

"Now , now y'all this isn't a peprally." She said waving her hand at the crowd to sit down.

"The new sports we will have this year is lacrosse, baseball, bigger tournaments for soccer, volleyball, football, and basketball. We'll also have chess, table tennis, cross country, badminton, and last but not least" she stopped pacing, "swimming." The crowd was all on their feet cheering and the principal just smiled. She stood there and waited for the crowd to quiet down.

"Now to start off your year, I will call up your first period teachers." She pulled out a piece of paper out of her pocket. "First we will start with the freshman year." She called out all the teachers. Then came the sophomore teachers.

"Mrs. Anders for Geometry." A blond women walked across the room to the door, and students stood up and followed her out the door. Derrick and I were on the edge of our seats waiting for Regina to call Mr. Morgan.

"Mr. Bulovian for History." A very tall man with jet black hair stood up and walked towards the door. He turned around and raised his hand and waved. He was wearing a bright blue button up top and tan colored Capri. A group of student gathered around him.

"Mr. Morgan for AP Chem." I stood up and pulled Derrick up with me and we walked to the door where a man in a bright yellow shirt and black pants stood. He started to walk and we all followed. I knew exactly where I was going because I remember barging into his class thinking it was my math class. We all settled down and Mr. Morgan stood still in front of the class.

"Hello class, welcome to AP chemistry!"
