(3RD PERSON POV)
(Y/N) (L/N) was a child adopted by Taiyang Xiaolong and his family by orders from Ozpin, reason being that he appeared in Beacon surrounded by a white flame. In the beginning his new family treated him with love and kindness, however once Summer Rose was gone, Tai and the others beat him senselessly as a means to distract themselves from the pain within their own hearts.
One day Tai nearly killed the child by beating him so badly that he could barely even speak or walk, it was on that night that he knew he needed to escape. And escape he did.
In the middle of the night, when the shattered moon reflected off the glass windows of their house, little (Y/N) made his move. Using a kitchen knife he managed to snatch while doing the dishes, he pried the lock of his window off, and raised it just enough to slip out. The two story fall hurt his legs but he stood back up, determined to leave, and he began to run, as fast and as far as his little legs could, and then even farther still. When he had no breath in his lungs and will left to move his legs, he collapsed, thinking he would die here and now to Grimm or worse, yet fate had other plans for him, as a bright white flame engulfed him, leaving nothing but ash in its wake.
Hours later he awoke, and looked at his surroundings, they were not nearly the same as when he had collapsed. Then he looked upon the sky, one of the few things that gave him comfort, yet above him, the shattered moon he had grown to love did not greet him, instead it was the crescent glow of a moon that was whole.
'Where am I?' The boy wondered, as he got his bearings and walked towards the nearest building, a large medieval looking stone building with massive iron doors. His body wanted to quit, but he knew he would not survive out in the wild much longer, so he drug himself as close as he could get to the the doors and used the last of his energy to produce three loud knocks on the iron threshold. As his consciousness faded and his vision blurred he was able to make out a tall figure with a 'silly' pointed metal hat looking down upon him before he passed out.
(3RD PERSON POV)
The residents of Yang Rose household were a mess, wrought with grief and regret. It was the morning after (Y/N) had ran, and everyone was panicking, trying to find the boy, to right the wrongs they have done to him, yet when they followed the trail he left, there was no sign of the boy they sought to make amends with. Instead, at the end of his trail, they found a pile of ashes and a burn mark in the shape of the child. Upon seeing this Tai attempted to cover his children's eyes, yet they saw, and they cried every tear they could produce, and internally punished themselves for how they treated such a kind child, who was just younger than Ruby.
(TIME SKIP)
Ruby Rose and the other first years are in the middle of their initiation to be placed on a team and officially be part of Beacon Academy, and are standing in front of the ruined temple housing their objective, being chased by a Deathstalker and a massive Nevermore.
(RUBY POV)
We all just met up, and Pyrrha just got flung at us by the Deathstalker on her tail.
"Great! the gangs all here, Now we can all die together!" Yang yells
"Not if I can help it" I yell back as I fire Crescent Rose at the Deathstalker and then sprint towards it with my scythe at the ready, but the moment I get into striking range the beast batters me away. "D-Do-Don't worry! Totally fine!" I call out, even though my head is spinning.
