(Madhu's POV)

RK had been rushed into the operating room. I was holding his hand until they took him inside. His blood was smeared on my hands. Tears filled my eyes. The nurse came up to me with the formalities...but I ignored her and sat down on the chair right next to the operating room. She followed me, shoving the clipboard in front of my face. I was about to take it when suddenly another hand came in a took it from me. I looked up. Mukund.

"I'll take care of this nurse." He shooed her away after quickly filling the form.

He sat down next to me and put his hand on my shoulder.

"He'll be alright Madhu....he's a fighter." He assured me. But my tears failed to stop.

A nurse ran out and went back inside, bringing a metal tray inside with her. I curled up into a ball on the chair, my face buried in my knees. No one else had come out in the coming minutes.

My heart longed for him....I didn't know what I would do without him. I needed him by my side....always. I turned to Mukund.

"RK....he will be alright na? He has to...for me." I said.

"He will be fine Madhu.....relax." He offered me a glass of water. I shook my head. I didn't want anything.

The doctor came out a while later....I got up and rushed to him.

"Doctor....how is RK? Is he alright?!" I frantically asked.

"He is not completely out of danger yet....but yes his condition is improving." He maneuvered around me and walked away. I stood there silently.....my eyes dry from crying. I wanted to go inside, to see him. I stood at the doorway of the room, wanting to go inside but not able to. Mukund brought me back to the chair before I went inside. He shook his head. I watched the door with heavy eyes, waiting for someone to tell me that he is alright.

An hour passed before the doctor informed me that RK was in a stable condition. I immediately got up, the smile returning to my face. Tears of joy ran down my cheeks.

"Please, only one person at a time can see him." The doctor said. Mukund signaled me to go first. I stepped inside the ward RK was shifted to.

(RK's POV)

I heard the door slowly open. I cocked my head to the side slightly. Madhu stepped inside, her eyes red and puffy from crying. I tried to get up, but my side screamed bloody murder and forcibly put me down. The nurse rushed to my side, but I ushered her away.

Madhu quickly reached my bedside and cupped my face with her soft hands. Her expression was a sign of worry.

"Are you okay RK?! You scared me so much!" She said frantically. I held her hands in mine.

"I'm fine Madhu...." I said. "Calm down.."

She wiped the fresh tears that fell from her eyes and ran her fingers through my hair. Her gaze reflected a whole new emotion, one that was clearly visible to me.

We stayed near each other in a heartfelt silence. Soon the doctor emerged inside with Mukund. He came over with some papers.

"Mr.Kundra.....you are recovering quite quickly than we expected. We just need to keep you under observation for another 24 hours, and if everything is fine, you may go home." He said, then handing the papers to Mukund.

"Thanks doctor.." I said. He smiled and left with the nurse.

"I'll leave you two alone." Mukund said, taking steps back towards the door.

I turned my attention back towards Madhu, who now had a small sparkle in her eyes. She leaned in closer to me, her face just a few inches away from mine. I could feel her heart thumping against her chest. My arm circled around her waist, which surprised her and myself. I pulled her closer to me, until our lips were barely touching. In an instant, our lips met each other. It was a gentle, emotion filled kiss. Nothing else existed in the world surrounding us. It was just Madhu and I. I sucked on her pink lips until both of us ran out of breath. She leaned in again and whispered something quietly into my ear.

"I want to tell you something." She said.

"What?" I asked.

"I'll tell you once we get home." She said.
