Marcus woke in a hospital and was happy he was alive. He tried to move but felt a sharp stabbing pain. He lifted what

was a blood soaked shirt to reveal a very severe 3inch across stab wound. He slowly raised his head to see summer

sitting on the end of his bed so he quickly lowered his shirt in embarrassment. Summer had tears in her eyes and was

happy to see Marcus awake so she gave him a hug. Obviously Marcus tried to hug back but was unable to because it as to

painful. Summer's mum was also sat in a chair and she smiled as she noticed Marcus was awake.

"Here all you have to do is read" said Mrs Sheeran. She handed him a document and explained how no one was looking

after him and after recent events it was necessary for him to have a parent or guardian. If Marcus wasn't officially

adopted soon he would most certainly be fostered. Mrs Sheeran then handed Marcus adoption papers and asked.

"Would you be able to sign these Marcus ?"

"Erm sure." Marcus replied happily whilst skim reading the papers.

"Mum?" Summer asked to get Mrs Sheeran's attention.

"Yes summer."

"Now I don't mean to be using you Marcus but you are aware that this week was a bomb of homework. So I was

wondering if I could take a week off to look after him."

"Absolutely not Summer."

"But wouldn't you want some time of if you realised your brother had almost died!"

Marcus asked Mrs Sheeran before she could speak. "No disrespect Mrs She- erm I mean mum but having Summer as

company would be nice and she could take me to my house to gather all my stuff, she could chill at my house until you

were able to move my possessions. We do also have permission to sell my house and some of the money could help me

to get new clothes or anything like that."

"Well I suppose so Marcus. Oh you will have to share a room with Oscar."

"Not the first time that I would have shared a room."

After that he was officially part of the Sheeran family and was happy to be but then his happiness faded as he glanced at

the TV....
