Vijay was absolutely bored. He had a project due but had no will to work on it. But it was something he had to finish in one week's time. He was busy staring at his half written work when Harsh walked in.

"Busy? "

"Kinda. What about you? "

"Eh. Not faring well. I was up all night finishing up the reference book you suggested. Sometimes I feel that I leave everything and become an ascetic."

Vijay chuckled silently and proceeded to write something on the paper. He wrote a line or two then dropped his pen with a sigh. "I can't"

" Then let's go out and just refresh ourselves." Harsh suggested.

"What about Maggie? "

Harsh sighed and sat down on Vijay's bed which was across the small room. He ran a hand through his trimmed hair and looked down.

"We fought. "

"What did you do now? " Vinay knew it. It was always something Harsh would do and Maggie was the extremely jealous type so it was most probably a matter that was made mountain out of a molehill.

" Nothing. You remember that girl I showed you on insta? "

"The one who tries different clothes? "

"No, the other one. The one who travels around. "

"Oh! The one with bi-"

"Yes! Anyways, I dmed her just to try and she replied and we talked, not anything suspicious. " Harsh explained.

"But? "

"But I might or might not have mentioned that I was single and Maggie found out. " His voice became lower as he completed the sentence.

Vijay facepalmed and slumped deeper on his chair. "Very nice. " He spat sarcastically.

"Please don't start now. I wanna clear my mind and just hang out. All those studies are making my head hurt. And with Maggie upset, I didn't know where to go. "

"So you came here to fuck up my brain too? "

"No dude! C'mon let's go! " Harsh stood up abruptly and forced Vijay out of his dorm room. Vijay didn't complain because he wanted this break. He checked his lower pocket for his phone, which was there, and followed Harsh to the latter's bike.

"That is it for today, I'll see you tomorrow! Also don't forget to memorise all parts of speech. I'll be taking a small test. " Divya smiled and left the room. Her exit was followed by an unenthusiastic chorus of ‘yes miss’.

"Finally! " Neha was standing outside the room tapping her foot impatiently.

" I told you, you shouldn't have to wait. " Divya smiled sheepishly.

"Yeah yeah, I am starving and I won't be swallowing the hostel food today. I've had a bad day and I need some pizza. Your tuition is over so come on! " She grabbed Divya's hand and stopped an auto-rickshaw so that it could take them to their desired destination.

Divya smiled at her friend ranting about her day. It was rare for Neha to vent out like that but Divya felt lucky that Neha allowed her to witness that side of her. She listened and commented here and there, then texted her mom where she was going. It has been a habit of hers to inform her mom about everything, excluding things that might make her worry or things that don't concern her much. She was also very close to her mother and contributed as much as she could to help her mother out, like, taking English tuitions of children who were weak in the language.
