time to fly

~harpers pov~

ahh calgary. as we drove to the airport, the early morning haze was grazing along the horizon. the city lights glowed like glitter scattered across the view. i was listening to need to know by doja cat in through my airpods as i admired the view. suddenly, i started to feel emotional. the next time i'll see this view is when we decide to visit next summer or something. i was getting overwhelmed and sad. then, i hear my phone go off. i look and see that my best friend besides chole, belle texted me;

heya harp! was wondering if

you want to hang out soon?

i stared at my phone. shit i forgot to tell belle about the move. 

belle <33

hiya belle! i'm sorry but, i forgot
to tell you that i'm moving to england.
we are on the way to the airport now :((

oh... i'm so sad :(( we'll keep in touch tho <3

i know we will. luv you <33

i smiled down at my phone. sometimes, it feels like belle is the only real friend i have. hopefully, i'll make new friends in england. i felt the car stop and i saw we were at the airport. i unbuckled my seatbelt and took my carry on bag with me. i helped my parents load the bags onto the cart and tow it into the airport. we checked in and went through security. then, i heard the announcement i did not want to hear. 

flight 4039 is now ready to board. please head to gate c.

i seen my parents and matteo get up so, i knew it was time to go. we walked over to the correct gate and gave the lady our plane tickets. we walked to the plane and boarded it. we found our seats to settle in. me and matteo had to sit together while my parents sat nearby. i got the window seat and snuggled into the seat as i put my neck pillow on. matteo was reading a book next to me. i looked out the window and saw the calgary lights. we listened to the announcements and i felt the plane starting to move. my eyes were drooping as we took flight. i saw over the city for the last time in a long long time. time to fly.

i woke abruptly to matteo shaking me again. 

"wake up harper! we are almost to england! we'll land in about ten minuets," matteo rambled. i just smiled and started to pack up my stuff. i slept since the plane took flight. i looked out the window and saw a bunch of buildings and streets. 

about ten minuets later, i felt the plane slowly go down to the ground. we landed and got out of the plane. me, matteo, and our parents headed over and grabbed our bags. it was so weird to be in a different country. we walked outside and saw how different it was. matteo grabbed my hand and lead me to the car we had prearranged. i helped our parents load up the car with our baggage and got in the car. it was way different than a normal car in calgary because the drivers seat was on the right instead of the left. dad put in the gps for the house address we bought and left the airport. i looked at the scenery as we drove by. it was overall a pretty nice view. we suddenly stop and turned into a tall, two story house. 

"this is it, guys! we are now in england about to go see our house for the first time in person. hope you guys like it!" my dad exclaimed proudly. i took my bag and got out of the car. it was a nice street with many tall two story homes like ours. as i entered the house, i felt at ease. i was exploring upstairs when i seen a really cool room. it felt like i was drawn to it. my favorite part about the room was the bench windowsill. when matteo came in, i could NOT let him have this room.

"sorry buddy but, this is my room," i told matteo. 

"it's fine. i liked a different room more than this one," he smiled running out. i put my bag in the corner and ran out to the car to get the rest of the bags. i was putting my stuff away when i heard somebody knocking on the front door. i went downstairs to see mom talking to some strange woman. after the woman left, i looked over at mom.

"who was that?" i asked. 

"that is our neighbor. since dad and matteo are going out for supper tomorrow night, she invited us over. plus, you meet her son. his name thomas and he's around your age," mom explained. welp that helps.
