A LOCUS.
A > a(A) tabby ↬ causes agouti (tabby). dominant.
synonyms: agouti(a) solid ↬ a cat with a single coat colour; no tabby markings. recessive.

Mc LOCUS
Mc > mc(Mc) mackerel ↬ causes the mackerel tabby pattern (striped tabby) if the agouti gene is also applied. dominant.
synonyms: striped tabby, fishbone tabby, tiger tabby(mc) classic ↬ causes a swirling/bullseye tabby pattern if the agouti gene is also applied. recessive.
synonyms: swirled tabby, blotched tabby, oyster tabby, marbled classic tabby
Sp LOCUS
Sp > sp(Sp) spotted ↬ the spotted pattern breaks up the mackerel or classic tabby pattern into spots. these spots do not have a secondary colour like rosettes. dominant.
(Sp/sp) broken ↬ like the spotted tabby, the broken tabby pattern breaks up the mackerel or classic tabby into pieces. but, in the broken tabby, these pieces are larger and more distinct.
(sp) normal ↬ this does not change the origional tabby pattern. it leaves it as either a mackerel tabby or a classic tabby. recessive.
Ta LOCUS.
Ta > ta(Ta) agouti ↬ a ticked tabby without distinct markings. dominant.
synonyms: unpatterned tabby, non-striped tabby(ta) ticked ↬ a ticked tabby with striped markings on their face, chest, tail and legs.
synonyms: barred tabby, marked ticked tabby
Th LOCUS
Thl > ths(Thl) classic ↬ normal classic tabby. dominant.
(ths) sokoke ↬ sokoke pattern; classic tabby with smoky areas inside the tabby markings. recessive.
Pm LOCUS
Thl > ths(Pmf) modified pattern ↬ spotted tabby; large spots if interacting with classic tabby, smaller spots when interacting with mackerel.
(pmu) unmodified pattern ↬ normal tabby; classic or mackerel tabby
Bg LOCUS
Thl > ths(Bg) rosetted ↬ rosette bengal pattern; outlined spots
(bg) marbled ↬ marbled bengal pattern

B LOCUS / BLACK LOCUS
B > b > b¹(B) black ↬ a common colour in cats; a very dark colour controlled by eumelanin. dominant.
synonyms: ebony(b) chocolate ↬ a rare colour in cats; a rich shade of brown. recessive.
synonyms: brown, chestnut(b¹) cinnamon ↬ a rare colour in cats; a warm reddish brown
synonyms: sorrel (in abyssinians/somalis), light brown
OTHER
ghost tabby markings ↬ faint tabby markings that are visible on some non-tabby cats. they are caused because all domestic cats used to be tabbies.
