Selena's Space Journey to the Past

Chapter 4

                     Selena was mysteriously transported near the Forever Remembered Memorial in the Space Shuttle Atlantis building without any of her friends. She was all alone inside the Space Shuttle Atlantis building near the Forever Remembered Memorial. She began wondering why she was picked to be all alone for a very good reason. She turned around to notice Christa walked out of the Forever Remembered Memorial towards her with being more curious.

          "Selena, I have picked you to be here for you to let you know that you have my spirit to guide you through your trip to know more about me. Remember to follow what your instincts are telling you to follow your heart to do the next right thing." Christa said to Selena,
Selena smiled at Christa while putting her hands on her mom's apple locket necklace. She always remembered her mom told her to trust her instincts ever since she was five years old.

          "I'm forever grateful to have my mom to teach me from what she learned from you. I have never thought of having such an amazing mom as she taught me from what she learned from her childhood in Concord. Thank you so much for inspiring me and so many people who were touched by your kindness or doing what you did for being part of the Teacher in Space program." Selena said to Christa,
Christa shows a joyful smile on her face while she listening to Selena. Christa hugged Selena with being so proud of her for continuing her legacy like so many people. She lets go of Selena from her hug and walks back into the Forever Remembered Memorial.

                     Later that early morning, Selena wakes up still dark outside in the early morning hours. She looked around the guest bedroom and saw Maisie was still asleep in another bed. Selena got out of the bed and walked into the bathroom. She was getting ready for bed while Lillian knocked on the door.

          "Hey Selena, Maisie, breakfast is ready in the dining room. I have a surprise for you Selena at breakfast." Lillian said to Selena and Maisie,
Maisie wakes up after hearing that breakfast is ready and gets out of another bed. Selena and Maisie were getting ready for their full first day in Concord, New Hampshire. Selena was putting on her mom's apple locket necklace around her necklace, knowing that she has the spirit of Christa McAuliffe in her heart. They walked out of the guest bedroom into the hallway where her siblings were walking down the stairs to the dining room. Selena and Maisie walked into the dining room after walking down the stairs. They sat down at the dinner table and started eating breakfast. Alyvia looked at Selena with a kind smile on her face after she drank some of her apple juice.

          "Selena, I'm so glad that I could meet you after hearing about you from my mom reading her sister's letters. You didn't know that I work at McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center with my boyfriend, Layne, who has been my best friend since middle school. I heard from your older brother Leonard started dating Aislinn. I'm so happy for Leonard and Aislinn to start a relationship like me and Layne. Did you know that my siblings: Eleandor, Shelby, and Marsha are working at McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center. They have been living with their own families all over Concord. I'm the youngest child in my family like you Selena and you have someone who could help you." Alyvia explains to Selena,
Selena smiles at Alyvia by knowing she has so many cousins on her mom's side of her family. Lillian got up from her chair and walked towards Selena. She put down a small light blue gift bag on the dinner table near Selena and she looked at Selena.

          "Selena, here's a late birthday gift from me. I got a local artist to make you something unique for your birthday. But I didn't get a chance to send it to your mom to get her to give you it before your birthday. It's because I got myself busy with helping with planning the McAuliffe Space Teacher event. Today's the first day for the McAuliffe Space Teacher event at McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center. It's all about honoring Christa McAuliffe, who has touched our hearts and inspiring us to continue her legacy here in Concord. There's going to be people coming from California, Texas, and Florida to speak during the event. You, your friend, and your family are invited to the event." Lillian said to Selena,
Selena grabbed the small light blue gift bag and grabbed a small blue velvet box out of the small blue gift bag. She opened the small blue velvet box and saw a handmade light blue stone pendant with a quote from Christa McAuliffe on the pendant. She looked up at Lillian after putting down the blue velvet box on the dinner table next to the small light blue gift bag.
