Chapter 13: Training Center

I have spent the last weekend examining and inspecting thoroughly, all of my enemies. Alex, Spence and I watched the last decade of Hunger Games, while we were watching Alex would give us tips on how and who to attack if necessary.

“The Training Center is a skyscraper located in the center of the Capitol where the tributes live and train in preparation for the Hunger Games. Their mentor, escort, stylist, and prep team stay with them during this time. They are also assigned Avoxes to act as servants to the tributes and their entourages.” Alex said while looking outside the glass elevator.

“Where do the tributes stay at?” Spencer asked.

“The tributes and their teams stay in a tower connected to the Training Center with each district inhabiting a separate floor. The tower has an open roof that includes a garden which provides an excellent view of the Capitol and is enclosed by a force field to thwart any attempt at suicide. It can be assumed that the Training Center is one of the tallest buildings in the Capitol.” I get really nauseous because of the thought of someone committing suicide. On the other hand Alex really is remarkable, sometime a bit childish but so intelligent. The elevator stopped and we headed towards the first station. Alex held the metal door opened, letting us through. The training station was huge, on my left I could see weapons an on my right I could see Ed and his Capitol friends chatting in a restricted area.

“Go on, then! No need to be shy, the other tributes are waiting.” Alex pushed us both to the direction where I could see Harry, Emma and the other tributes standing. We rushed to where the crowd was standing, they were all focused on what a tall muscular woman was saying.

“…An underground gymnasium filled with training stations and obstacle courses is where you will prepare and practice for the challenges in the arena. The training stations spaced throughout the center are based on different skills that may be useful in the arena, which includes knot tying, identifying edible plants and insects, camouflage and practicing with weapons-”

“Excuse me?” A girl with jet black hair and ocean blue eyes interrupted.

“Yes?” Everyone stared at the now red-faced girl.

“I was wondering… Could you tell us about the Kiyoko twins?”

The muscular womans face went pale. “No, it was in the past and it should stay that way… What’s your name?”

“A-Amelie, miss.” The girl answered shivering a bit.

“Well Amelie, I don’t know where you heard about them, but I assure you it’s only a ghost story now.”

Everyone started to whisper to each other, wondering about what the hell was that girl talking about, but the women coughed loudly and everyone went silent again.

 “As I was saying, experts are placed at each station to instruct and serve as training partners, you probably know by now that it’s forbidden to fight each other before the Games begin. You’ll have plenty of time for that in the arena.” I could see the tributes smirking to each other. I decided to talk to Harry, I haven’t seen him since that dinner we had on Friday. I walk up to him and smile, but he gives me a death glare. I don’t get it, what kind of game is he playing?

“Hey, can we talk?” I ask him.

“Why do you want to talk to me?” He gives me a sneer look.

“Because, I haven’t seen you in two days an-” He cuts me off.

“Look at this guy, what are you really that desperate for my attention? Am I the only friend you got? Oh, wait… I’m not even your friend, so what the fuck do you want from me loser?!” everyone in the room is now looking at us. Laughing at me.

“What the hell is your problem Harry?!” I yell at him. He pushes me on the floor without even using much strength. I get up and run up to him, grabbing him by his collar.

“Are you bipolar or some shit?!” He smirks at me, the next thing I know Alex is moving us away from each other.

“Styles, go to station three.” Alex says, and when he started to walk away, she grabbed him by his arm and whispered something in his ear to which he made a surprised look, but shortly after that he got mad and started to walk away. What is going on between Harry and Alex? What did she whisper to him? Who are the Kiyoko twins that girl mentioned? I need those answers, and I’ll do what I have to, to get them.

I decided to continue, and finish the fanfic, and I hope you guys like it. I will update every thursday from now on, so you can expect the next chapter on the 26th of March, 2015.
