I made my way out of Alex's room. At least I still have the place to myself... I decide to go to the roof and train for a while since I didn't stay at todays lesson. I leave the apartment with my training supplies, it was a bag filled with towels, water, knives, ropes... basically a murder bag. The hallway was long, it was quiet because everyone was training, or so I thought they were. I hear someones heavy footsteps coming closer from behind me. I start to walk faster, so does the person behind me. I walk up to the elevator and wait nervously for it to come down. I hear the footsteps slow down, and I start to pray that I will escape in time. Why am I so scared though? Maybe it's just some idiot trying to scare me.
I turn around to see who this creep really is.
This guy is literally 2 inches away from my face, he's tall, and has light brown hair. He smiles at me.
"Hello, there!" His smile is so kind and caring, I can't explain it.
"Hey..." I say awkwardly.
"Sorry if I scared'ya mate, my name's Ansel."
"N-No, it's fine... I'm Louis."
"So, Lewis, where you goin? Aren't you supposed to be at the training center?"
"It's Louis, and what about you? Why aren't you at the training center?" He smirks
"I asked you first."
The elevator door finally opens and I enter.
"I guess you will never find out after all." I wink at him, and the elevator door closes. I could hear his chuckle after our conversation finished.
That was Ansel Elgort from District nine, I wonder why he wasn't at the training center either. As I exit the elevator, I can feel the cold wind crashing into my face. I felt free and relaxed until I saw Harry sitting at the edge of the roof. I dropped my bad and ran up to him.
I stop behind him, he turns around, giving me a confused look.
"What are you doing here?" He asks calmly.
"You aren't going to jump, are you?" I ask breathless from the run.
He laughs. "I might..."
"That's not funny!" I grab his arm tightly. He tries to let go, but I don't let him. "Come on you idiot, let's go."
"Where?" He asks.
"You are going to train with me. The games start in four days, we can't waste anymore time." We start to walk, I'm still holding his hand, it's so cold and dry. He stops, I look at him.
"Don't you want to know why I acted the way I did?"
I smile at him. "I thought about it a lot, and my theory is that you don't want people to know we are going to be allies... or you're bipolar." He chuckles.
"I wish I could explain it to you... but I can't, because I don't yet understand it myself, I just have these mood swings from being kind and friendly to being a rude prick." He laughs awkwardly.
"I see... Does Alex know something about you, something that you would not like to share with other people?" I ask directly.
He looks at me, scanning my face. "What makes you think that?"
"She whispered something to you before you left... It made you angry, right?"
He remembers and turns his back. "I was angry, but it wasn't because she knows something personal about me." He huffs.
"Then what were you angry about?"
"I was angry at you. You lied to me!" He turns around and walks up to me. "Why would you lie to me about caring about me, and us being allies? She told me you are going to make me care about you and kill me after I start to trust you!"
"She said that? Why would you believe her?!" I yell.
"Maybe because she's always right?! She's the Information god, and why would she lie to me when she doesn't even have anything against us being together?"
I shake my head. "But that's not true! I would never do that to you! You have to believe me, I don't know what game Alex is playing but it's not fun anymore!" I was cut off by someones clapping. We both turn around to find Alex sitting on the bag I left behind. She gets up and starts to walk up to us.
"I love drama so much!" She giggles. "You two are just so easy to manipulate..." She sighs.
"Alex... What the hell is going on?!" I ask her, I'm so mad at her right now.
"I was trying to prove a point here... God, I guess I'm going to have to spell everything out for you..." Harry and I look at each other, confused.
She continues. "I've been watching you two from the beginning, for some reason I think that you two might win these games. Now I won't and I can't tell you why I came to this conclusion, but you need to realize that being the way you are... And that's either too naïve or just full of mood swings..." She coughs. "Well lets just say you are too emotional. That is why you are so easy to control and manipulate. Your teammates are the exact opposite, they keep their emotions in check, same goes for your opponents." She stops to take a breath, Harry and I are now carefully listening to her. "Therefore, I need you to shut off all emotions which are clouding your judgement right now. I also need you to work out a strategy for the games, how are the four of you going to survive."
Harry grabbed my hand, holding it tightly. "You're right." He says.
I smile at him. "I guess we better get to work."
