Run! That was all was going through my mind. How was it possible that I was dying to stop to now sprinting with Jace probably hot on my tail. I'm losing my breathe, but not daring to decrease my speed. My heart's racing along with anxiety overwhelming me. What if he catches me? What if I'm not fast enough to escape.... What if! . Possibilities and more are created. What should I expect when, no, if he catches me? I pray I don't get to that point.
Still running, I get an instinct that someone is behind me. Shoot he caught up. When suddenly, a hand gets a hold of my hoddie and I make contact with the ground falling on my butt. My body is stuck with fear, until I hear a familiar voice.
" Damn Mary, you passed me and I've been calling your name for like a thousand times. You look like you've seen a ghost." How about devil. Devil sounds more appreciate in this situation.
" Ah no I'm fine." Truth was I think I left my lungs and heart back there.
" You sure? You really look pale. I think we should just head back so you don't faint on me." She said while I agreed in union.
The distance back was shorter than expected. Just as we were about to enter the building, Vicky's phone rang.
" Sorry love. I'll be just a minute." With that she turned a few feet away from me so I wasn't able to comprehend the conversation she's deep within. Hanging up the phone, Vicky walked back towards me with a puzzled look on her face.
" What's wrong?"
" Jace needed help with something. And I have no idea why I'm his first choice."
" Oh you should probably see the issue."
" You're right. Maybe he's on his period since his always moody." She laughed and I couldn't resist but join her.
" Ok after I help the ass with his problems, how about we meet up for lunch. I'll text you the info."
" Sure. Why not."
" Oh and later were going out for another party."
" Uh I'm not-"
" Nonsense. You are coming. No excuses." I couldn't argue any further because we both know who's going to win and it ain't gonna be me.
" Fine. I'll go." After the words fell out of my mouth, I instantly regretted it.
" Good. Ok gotta go. See you later."
Entering the room, I was welcomed with darkness. Looking for the switch, to find it not working .That's weird. I walked around aimlessly looking for my my torch hoping it will help get rid of this horrid feeling in my gut. I successfully found it, only to get disappointed. Ok I have a bad feeling, so I decided staying in the dark alone wasn't a smart idea. Once I got to the door knob, I was grabbed back to a hard chest with a hand on my mouth. Panicking, I started thrusting my elbow to the person with no success. I'm guessing its a male because damn his abs seemed to be made of steel. But when he whispered into my ear, I was paralyzed in my postion.
"You almost had me there sweetheart." That spicy colon, that minty breath, the touch ... Jace. I tried to scream but all that came out were muffled noises.
" Shhh. Screaming will only make it worse." I turned to the sound of his voice but only facing darkness. My heart was beating too hard, too fast I prayed he couldn't hear it.
" Now that's a good girl. So sweetheart anything you want to tell me?" I could tell he had that obnoxious smirk of his. Before I could respond my phone buzzed in my bra. Without even comprehending what was happenening, Jace took his hand inside and got my phone. As a result, I was sure I was left with a stain on my cheeks and felt invaded.
