"wait your actually serious" elliott let her laugh die down, hearing as kiara's tone sounded far more serious then a joke, "of course im serious! We kooks get a plus one ane you are thee perfect person to bring"

"But being in the same room as kooks for over 3 hours doesn't sound fun" elliott whined, taking another hit of her blunt, "but i'm there, JJ will be there, same with pope you will be fine" Kiara ussered her

"i don't have any dresses in my closet kie" Elliott continued to list off reasons, flopping down onto kiaras bed, "well good thing i got you a dress before this conversation"

This made elliott slightly choke on the smoke of her blunt, trying to take more breaths of air to fill her lungs, "what" she asked, looking up slightly to see kiara smirking and head to her closet quickly

"you actually got me a dress, are you crazy?" kiara nodded at eli's question, pulling out a light blue dress, "light blue? that colors fucking ugly love" elliott took the last hit of her blunt, throwing the little piece that was left onto kiaras desk

"it was the only color in the dress that was left" the curly haired girl shrugged, throwing the dress over the desk chair

"then you could have picked another dress" elliott complained, "all the others were ugly, my mom picked mine, she wont let me wear yours" the girl flopped next to elliott

"so will you go with me?" kiara repeated, looking at elliott with an expression she knew elliott would say yes to, "your a bitch" Elliott chuckled at her expression

kiara instantly had a giant grin on her face, jumping up from the bed, facing the girl while she ran a hand through her hair, "well we got 4 hours, we got to start getting ready" kiara grabbed elliotts hand, forcing the older girl to stand up

"i'm wearing converses, no questions asked" Elliott raised an eyebrow, even though she didn't need confirmation, she still made a face that asked for kiaras permission

kiaras mom helped the girls with their hair, seeing as they didn't trust the other and trusted kiaras mom more with their hair, the past 4 hours went by in a blur and it only felt like 30 minutes had gone past

kiara was sat silent next to eli, fingers moving quickly across the bright screen as she texted Pope that they would be there soon, elliott was fiddling with the flower crown in her lap, biting her lip slightly as she went over what has been happening these past 2 days

her thoughts were all mushed together, she could remember the biggest things that had happened the past days but with all the drugs in her lungs from the weed they were all a blur

"you both look beautiful" kiaras mom loud voice rang through elliotts ears, making the girl jump at the sudden noise, "thank you mrs. carrera" elliotts voice raised a bit, acting innocent for the woman

"kiara, i will take your phone, stop being rude" her mother hissed, taking kiaras flower crown and placing it on her daughters head, "i'm not being rude mom" kiara answered

"you girls go get in the car, me and your dad will be right there kiara" the two girls just forced a smile, walking out to the car.

"this will be one interesting midsummers, i can feel it" Elliott whispered in kie's ear as they heading to the country club, "same, especially with pope being there, maybe JJ if he gets released this early" elliotts features softened a bit at her brothers name, her brother had been arrested earlier that day and she hoped with everything in her that he was ok

the hatred she had for topper had grown so much more knowing that he sent her best friend to jail, he didn't deserve it as the pogues got blamed for everything bad that happened in the outer banks, the only thing they had done was sink a boat that could easily be bought again with the amount of money each kook had

"i'm hoping he's ok" elliott sat back in her seat, crossing her arms and watching the trees pass by, "he's ok eli, he's strong" kiara ussered her, grabbing the girls hand with a small smile

But elliott knew what has happened with their dad and kiara didn't, he was the only person who could bail out JJ and that wasn't a good thing, but the blonde just forced a smile out, hoping kiara wouldn't see the sadness in her eyes

the rest of the way to the country club was silent, the quiet humming of the music from her dad was one of the only sounds that filled the car, kiara once in a while squeezed the blondes hand, rubbing circles over her thumb to try and comfort her friend

it calmed her a bit, but two things were still in her mind that wouldn't leave, even if she tried to think of anything else. JJ being in jail and this one wasn't a suprise, rafe.
