I've been looking back through old stories I wrote a few years ago to figure out a timeline of writing stuff, and I found 3000+ word story that took me 2 months to write.
I've written more that in a day before.
Now, angst time!
Procrastination: hey, it's been a while since you looked up convex art on google. Would you like to do that instead?
Me: yes
Impulse still didn't know.
It was the one thing Tango found relief in as the days passed by. Impulse didn't know about the magic, and that he burnt down the house. And after a (very) long strider ride back to hermit society, the half-blaze had managed to get out of the nether.
Tango had been the one to find Zedaph's body as well, and buried it disappointingly unceremoniously in his base, with a sign on the door saying what had happened. With a final tearful look back, he flew away, trying not to cry. Zedaph was dead. Zedaph was dead. Permadead. Never coming back.
He landed back in his base, just as another message appeared in chat. He looked down, seeing a private message from Impulse.
Impulse whispered to you: if you're still around, I'm meeting to discuss plans for defeating Scar.
He didn't reply, not wanting to be the one to reveal the hard news to his best friend that Zed's death was permadeath. Instead, he entered Fifi's cave, heading down to the storage system, finding a bed, and sleeping.
Impulse paced the main area of his factory alone. Several other hermits would be coming to his meeting. He didn't know if Tango was among them. He didn't know if Tango was even alive still. He hadn't seen his friend since the incident in the nether. And now Zedaph was apparently dead, Bdubs was on Scar's side, and everything was going wrong.
He remained there for a few more moments, waiting. Would anyone actually make it? He'd thought the guys over at Horsehead Farm had been interested, but no one arrived. Iskall and Mumbo? They'd promised to come when asked, but Iskall had been living with Etho, and Etho had joined Scar and...
'Hey... Impulse...' The hermit looked up sharply to see Bdubs, looking very awkward and phantom-y.
He drew his sword, pointing it at the enemy.
'Get away!' He snapped. 'Why are you here?!'
'Hero wanted me to do this. This isn't my choice. He made me come to your base.'
'Hero?'
'Herobrine.'
'What?! Bdubs, you know you're the only person on this server that actually still believes the Herobrine is real.'
'But he is! And he's controlling Scar. That's why he's been acting so weird. Herobrine's controlling him.'
'Yeah, right. How many people have you convinced with that argument?'
'Why else would Scar be trying to kill us?!'
'He did it before! In season 5!'
'Well, Cub's not with him this time. And it's not anything to do with the Convex.'
Impulse refused to back down, standing his ground. Suddenly, there was a sharp sting in his neck. He quickly became dizzy, while Bdubs watched, hiding his emotion.
'I told you he wanted me to come to your base.'
'Why are you doing...' Impulse questioned, before he fell unconscious.
