Long live the countess

Waiting for moonrise was painful. Mental pain. We were just staring at each other for hours. If anyone saw they'd think we were hytomitised. We were just mad.
The time has come but I didn't want to remind her. I'd just wait for her.
She made me wait an extra an hour before breaking the stare and speaking.
"I heard your father talking with Constance from my room, he was talking about how she needed to kill two people, us" she looked to the floor as she spoke, "I had a stake that night because I was going to kill your father but then I saw Constance with a stake in your room, she was being controlled and I killed her." She was telling the story like it wasn't hers.
"She didn't have a stake"
Enid found my eyes, "under your coffin I saw your father roll it under there as I flew off"
I told her to stay there as I walked up to my room just praying I'd fine nothing. Please.
I peered under the coffin to find a stake. She hasn't been lying.
But Constance was being controlled, "you still killed an innocent"
"I'm sorry, I should have found another way-"
"If you killed my dad she would have been out of his control. She wouldn't be dead." I was looking straight at Enid. She was still my sisters murderer.
But she also was worth forgiving...
"It's the past, we can't change it"
"IT WAS MY SISTER" I shouted but you could hear tears in my voice before I let them fall.
I could see the guilt in her eyes; she did regret it. She wasn't saying anything so I just stared. "I don't know what to think of you" I looked away. She got up to make me look at her. I punched her.
"ROSETTE!!"
I just looked down at her on the floor; I didn't think of anything. Blank.
"Bring her back"
She knew; I knew. You couldn't.
Enid stood opposite me as we both looked down. Neither could face what we had to do.
"No more games." She bent down, reaching for the stake under my coffin. It was then in my hands. She then held me by my waist as she whispered into my ear, "long live the countess"
I looked down at the wooden stake remembering that night. The man had turned sister on sister and lover on lover. But the two he wanted gone were still alive and ready to fight.
I nod, "he murdered her"
Enid then got on her knees, bowing to me with her head on the floor completely. There I stood, speechless. She was utterly vulnerable there; the respect that came with was immense. Maybe she had proved herself innocent to me now.
I placed my foot on her head which she displayed no reaction to. Dedicated. I wanted to see how true she was being, how obident she could be. "Stand"
She complied.
"Turn"
Her back was to me as I lifted her shirt making her shiver and whince. The scar I left wasn't healed yet just like her wrist. I traced my finger down her spine then licking her blood of my index finger. I still heard her cry's of pain. I could only see the bone in u few places and it wasn't dripping with blood. She's stronger than I thought.
"Fly" Her head dropped and I dropped her shirt. I pulled her to me by her waist and whispered to her, "I'm right behind you"
Waiting a couple seconds, then there's was a bat in front of me so I followed, flying out the window into the night. Enid struggled to keep up. Me being behind her was a complete lie.
I liked to play around with her; circling her, randomly stopping and falling back confusing her into where we were going. Soon enough Enid got mad and flew straight into me, leaving us both tumbling to the ground.
The next thing I saw was her eyes, filling my view. "You're killing me Rose" her voice was now quieter and husky. I was surprised at the name Rose but now the urge to be mad at her for it had dissapeared.
"Rosie..." she then collapsed onto me and only for a few seconds, panic set in. Pulse was steady.
I then carried her deeper into the forest where I knew no one would find us. Find her.
I looked at her in my arms and let out a chuckle. What has happened to us?
I move her hair out of her face looking down at her, the full moon lighting her face in cool tones. I forgot about the past few days as I let our whole lives flash in my mind. Leaning back, I let my back lay on the grass as the wind runs along my skin. If I pretend nothing happened I get a feeling I know as love. If I stop pretending I get a feeling of love. I smile.
She's all I have left now. A countess always needs her guard. Enid was right, if it wasn't for her I'd be dead by now.
I sat up with a smile still plastered on my face. Drawing my finger along her jawline and touching her lips I lost myself in the textures. She was so beautiful; I'd never understand how. We are both decades away from human life but in this moment I see that kid. Recklessly riding her motorcycle through the streets at one in the morning without her headlights. I want her.
Not just her body. All of her.
I wasn't fuelled by lust anymore; but love.
Then coughing started from her; clearly her throat was dry. The first thing she did was slap me as I was still staring at her face. Her energy then disappeared and she relaxed again in my lap. "Bitch..."
"Yeah yeah I know"
Her hand reached up, pulling my face down, "countess Rosie"
I smiled wide at that name now to realise her eyes were closed again.
"Excuse me?"
I turned to see a young girl look at me, clearly lost. "Yes?"
"I don't know where I am... how do I get back to the city?"
I wore my smile, "come here dear, how old are you?"
"13"
Enid woke again at the smell at young blood, "no..."
I looked at the child; it's not bad if she doesn't remember.
"We'll take you home if you us a little favour, ok?"
She jumped out of my lap, "ROSETTE!! SHE'S BARELY LIVED!!"
I laugh, "when did you start caring about humans?"
She looked at the girl sitting with us, "you're deranged"
"As are you"
She got to her feet taking the girls hand as the terrified child looked up to her. Enid looked back at me, "not as much as you"
I stood as she walked away with the child, "I CAN HEAR HOW DRY YOUR THROAT IS!"
She talked calmly and showed me her middle finger without looking back, "fuck you Rosie"
