Alex shuddered as the rain coated his fur, laying under a log shivering like he's been for the last five days, drinking what water he can collect from his fur and the puddles surrounding his hiding spot. His wolf barely showing himself since his parents and sister were murdered by that alpha and his pack. Their scent had faded days ago, but he was scared they were still near. His stomach growled from the lack of food. He thought about what he had to eat last, which was his mother's lasagna she made it for his birthday, the night everything happened. now here he sits an orphan, he whimpers as his stomach growls. "you have to go home Alex, everyone is gone" his wolf Vlad says to him quietly. Alex whimpers, knowing that he has to follow Vlad's advice. He gets up, shaking out his muddy fur and stepping out into the pouring rain. After washing the mud out of his fur in the rain, he walked back the way his mom taught him to the house quietly being sure not to step on a twig or ruffle the leaves to much, scared someone would hear him. As he makes it back to the house safely his parents and sisters bodies left in front of the burned remains of his home. He whimpers walking to the bodies nuzzling them with his snout showing his affection before shifting back to his small boy form. He puts all of their bodies in a pile going to the fire pit. Grabbing the lighter fluid, he slowly doused his family in it. Tears streaming down his face as he takes the matches, lighting them on fire as his bright blue eyes turn a dark green. He sits next to the fire crying for what feels like days, but was really only hours until there was nothing left but ashes. He walks to the side of the house where he hid a metal lunch box full of stuff like a bag of shells him and his family collected on a trip to the beach last summer. He dumps the shells into the box, burying it again, taking the bag back to the ashes filling it half way full of the ashes putting it in his pocket. "blessed be for the moon goddess shines her rays on you and guides you to your happy afterlife" he says quietly, like his mother did at his grandma's funeral. He looks around before going to the back side of the house where the basement entrance was from the outside. He grabs his camping backpack as well as some of the unbroken jars of food his mom kept preserved for when they went out of season, and a flash light. Before putting it on and going back outside, he looks back one more time "Lets go Alex, we need to get out of here. As far from here as possible, then we can eat." Vlad says softly trying to get Alex to start moving. "You're right, let's go Vlad" Alex says, taking the backpack off and shifting into his wolf before grabbing the backpack in his mouth. His eyes were glossy and shaky, feeling scared not knowing where to go or where to avoid. He picks a direction and starts running north he runs for a few hours before slowing down to get a drink from a stream. He shifts to his human form pulling out one of the jars and eating the whole thing. After washing it in the stream and filling it with water, he put it back in the backpack. He shifts again grabbing the backpack and running in the same direction he was before, not stopping for the rest of the night and even until the sun was high in the sky. When his paws finally gave and he couldn't push himself anymore he collapsed under the shade of the trees. He curls into himself and falls asleep. He wakes up as the first rays of sun light shine across his wolf face and he stands up shakily before shifting back to his human form to drink the jar of water and eat a jar of peaches. After he's finished he put the jars away. He sniffs the air and wrinkles his nose "that smells gross, why does it smell like that Vlad?" he asks confused. "Were near a town, maybe someone will help or we could at least find a safe place to sleep. We have to be careful, one sign of wolf and we're out of here." Vlad told him confidently as Alex puts on the backpack. Walking to the edge of town he looked around, his eyes darkened as he headed into the unknown. He keeps his head down, sniffing carefully as he walks, avoiding all the humans he comes across. When he gets to what he thinks is the center of town, he smelled a wolf off to his left so he took off to the right, slowly jogging away from the scent. he sighs sadly, "so much for that thought Vlad" he says sarcastically to his wolf. As soon as he hits woods he throws the backpack out in front of himself and shifts. He smells them, four wolves close by, including the one behind him. He takes off only to be slammed by an all black wolf, knocking the backpack from his mouth. He tries to stand, swaying slightly as he shakes out his fur and growls. His eyes, once a dark green, now a shimmering gold. The wolf shifts to his human form; "Shift NOW" he growls out. Alex refuses and just continues growling. "CAPTURE IT" He growls. Before Alex can react the three other wolves pin him. The one that stopped his struggling was the wolf with his teeth to his throat. A she wolf walks over in her human form with ropes in her hands. she wraps his muzzle, then his legs, securely -but not tightly- before bowing to the male that yelled earlier, "yes alpha" She comes back over to Alex, picking him up and walking, the group silently following behind. Alex slowly starts to drift to sleep in the she wolf's arms.
