~The day of Alex 17th birthday~
Alex was woken up by Malinda "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX" she bursts into his room loudly "today's the day my baby gets to start looking for his mate" she says smiling and Alex sighs quietly "Mel can you get out of my room so I can get dressed" he says chuckling slightly knowing how excited she was for his birthday and he couldn't ruin that for her. He gets up getting dressed in a pair of black jeans and a red flannel shirt and a beanie grabbing his backpack from the desk chair going downstairs to the kitchen sitting at the table smelling the bacon eggs and pancakes Malinda always makes him on his birthday he smiles as Malinda brings his plate in stacked with food Alex smiles digging in happily "thanks Mel this is so good I think this year's is the best I've ever tasted." Alex says smiling "you say that every year Alex" she says laughing sitting down with her own plate of food "but I'm telling you this year is the best" he say laughing his mouth full of food "come on Alex hurry up or your gonna be late for school" she says smiling "who knows maybe your mate will be in one of your classes" she says hopeful "alright I'm goin see you when I get home" Alex says standing putting his plate in the sink grabbing his backpack heading out the door he puts his headphones in his ears before he jogs to the bus stop standing off to the side avoiding everyone he get on the bus going to his usual seat Humming to the song looking out the window he sighs as is starts to rain as he pulls up to the school everyone getting out Alex slowly walking behind everyone until Aiden comes up behind Alex pulling his headphones out of his ears "happy birthday Alex" he says smiling slightly "time to find your she wolf" he says chuckling "come on Aiden you know I don't care if I find my mate whoever it may be I'm fine with my life the way it is" Aiden shakes his head slightly "come on you have to be slightly excited and the packs ball is in a few days maybe you'll find them there" he says gently as they walk to their lockers grabbing what they need before walking to first period they chat the whole time about Alex's birthday party after school like every year birthdays were the one days were Omegas get a day off from chores and that was one thing Alex and Vlad were both excited for since they wanted to take that time and go running in the woods right outside of pack territory. The day goes by like normal the classes dragging on finally Alex is standing out in front of the school waiting for Malinda to pick him up she pulls up rolling the window down "come on Alex I wanted to take you somewhere were going on a road trip we've both been given permission from the luna I got your school work yesterday and you've already been excused from classes and we'll be back in time for the pack ball." She says smiling excitedly "I thought I was just getting a party me and Aiden were talking about it today" he says getting in the car and she laughs "that's because he might have been in on it" she says smiling as Alex buckles his seat belt and he rolls his eyes "so where are we going" he asks curiously "right now we're running to the house to grab you a bag of clothes for the next few days and to pick up my duffle" Malinda says smiling as she speeds down the highway toward the apartment once they get there they go to there rooms Malinda to grab her bag and Alex to pack his. After there done the meet back in the living room by the front door "ready?" Malinda asks and Alex nods and they put their bags over their shoulders walking back to the car getting in and taking off speeding away from the pack territory Malinda turns the radio on while they drive. After a couple hours after driving they stop for gas "we can stop for gas and food we have a couple more hours to drive before we stop for the night at the hotel to rest for the night" Malinda says softly to Alex smiling slightly as she hands Alex some cash and gets out and paying and starts filling up the gas tank. Alex walks inside getting some snacks and a couple sandwiches and drinks he goes up to the cashier paying for the stuff walking back to the car with the bags getting in handing Malinda her drink sandwich and chips "thanks Alex" she says happily opening the sandwich and starts eating humming softly Alex eats quietly sipping his soda "I figured once we get to the hotel we could go out to eat for your birthday dinner" Malinda says softly "and then we'll get up first thing in the morning and go to breakfast before taking off again and we should be there around noon" she says giving him a small smile finishing her food and he nods smiling slightly the longer he waits the more curious he is on where they are going Alex finishes his food and Malinda gets out throwing out the trash before getting back in buckling up before taking off again Alex ends up falling asleep a few minutes later he sleeps until Malinda soft voice gently starts getting louder "Alex time to wake up were at the hotel let's go get freshened up and go get some food I saw a cute restaurant when we were getting into town" she says gently nudging him as he blinks his eyes sleepily as he nods "okay Mel" he says getting out of the car following Malinda and they walk to the check in getting their room going up and Melinda takes a shower getting dress before Alex takes his shower and he comes out Melinda is finishing her makeup as Alex shakes out his damp hair. "I'm ready" he says putting on a black beanie and his leather jacket over his my chemical romance shirt and his black Vans putting his phone and wallet in his pocket and Malinda puts her phone and keys in her purse "me to let's go" she says smiling her black and lavander dress going just below her knees matched with purple flats. They walk out of the hotel room walking down to the car driving to the restaurant in comfortable silence that was one of Alex's favorite things about Melinda she never forced conversation to fill the silence. Once they got there they got seated immediately the waitress smiled at Alex "what can I get for you handsome" she says batting her eyelashes flirting with him "cheeseburger fries and a sprite" he said simply taking out his phone texting Aiden she sighs slightly upset that he wasn't paying attention to her Melinda tries to hold in her laughter at the poor girl before giving the girl her own order she nods sulking off toward the kitchen "I think you just broke our waitresses heart Alex" she says giggling slightly "it's not my fault I'm not interested plus she's human she would never understand me even if she wanted to" he says his eyes going a dark green "Alex sweetheart your eyes" she says softly putting her hand on his shoulder he nods closing his eyes for a few seconds when he opens them they're back to his normal blue. "Sorry Mel" she shakes her head "don't be sorry I love you just they way you are Alex just as if you were my own son I want you to be happy you deserve that you deserve to have a mate. Your meant to be more then an Omega I've felt such ever sense the luna told me to carry you back to the pack and make sure that no harm came to you and I was happy to do that. I've seen you grow into a fine young man whoever your mate is will be lucky to have you" Malinda says softly smiling Alex nods quietly as the girl comes back with the food and they eat quietly once they're finished Malinda pays putting a tip on the table for the waitress walking out with Alex in front of her "so tomorrow we will reach the spot I want to take you" she says softly with a small smile "thanks Mel" he says softly as the walk back to the hotel and getting ready for bed Alex knew tomorrow was going to be a long day if only he knew...
