Cole.

I had decided I needed to get away for a bit, I had recently had a messy break up with my boyfriend, so to treat myself I had booked a weekend away at a place called ' Tree Top's, I had been looking for somewhere to get away too, just so I could escape the harshness of the city and sort my head and hart, for a while now I had missed being able to look up at a sky full of stars and I missed the smell's and sounds of the wood's like the one's I had grew up by, I was beginning to feel suffocated by the smog of the city that I was breathing every day.

I had been scouting the interned when I had found a link to this place at the bottom of my search page, it promised solitude and peacefulness, and that was what I was looking for, just to get away, not have to think of anything just let my body and mind relax, I felt I needed it so bad.

And so here I am, in the middle of the wood's, if I'm honest these wood's have got to be the darkest wood's I have ever seen, it had taken me just over three hour's to get here, just to be told that I had to leave my car in the carpark and that I would be driven to my rented tree house, something about only forest vehicles allowed to drive on the forest track's.

With my driver not being very talkative, he was a little hunched over old man that seemed to mutter a lot under his breath, I had decided to just enjoy the view from my window, the wood's seemed to get even thicker the deeper we went, I was glad when the tree house finally came in to view about an hour later, it was beautiful, it was about seven feet off the forest floor and almost hidden by the leaf filled branch's of the surrounding tree's, a narrow stepping stone path thickly edged with thick forest fern's led up to a rustic rope and wood suspended bridge walk way that led up to the small porch of the tree house.

The old man didn't hang about after taking my bags out of the jeep, I hadn't even got a foot on the bottom board of the tree house bridge and he was already off only leaving a cloud of dust behind him.

The tree house was basic and consisted of three room's, a small couch in the centre of the first room facing the large window's that looked out over the forest below with a coffee table in front of it , a tall standing lamp in the corner off to the left of the window, a basic kitchen lined the wall opposite the window, small sink, small food prep area and a two ring gas hob, oh and some cooking utensils, and off to the left were the door's leading to the bedroom where a very comfortable looking double bed stood with a small wardrobe at the foot of it, and then the other to the bathroom, at least I had running water.

Finally settling on the couch with a hot chocolate as I looked through some old book's I had found in the wardrobe, some of Steven king and some of Richard Laymon, none of which I was going to read while staying in this treehouse in the middle of the wood's. Placing my half empty cup on the coffee table and picking my phone up I relax in to the couch and rest my feet on the table, swiping the screen to unlock it I tap the wattpad app but when I can't get on the site I see I have no signal at all, I sigh and place the phone back on the coffee table' I sit back and cross my arms as I look out into the forest as the sun begins to drop, dark orange beam's from the setting sun cut through small gaps in thick forest , before I know it I'm out cold.

Yanked from my sleep when I here a loud thud come from under the tree house, at first I'm not sure if I had heard it, but when it happened again and the room shook, I was now wide awake and grabbed my phone off the coffee table, I checked the time, 2:23am, looking out side the only light coming from the full moon which seemed to give the dark thick woods a silvery sheen. I freeze as now I can hear what sounds like a continuous scrap along the underneath of the tree house, my eye's follow the sound as it travels from over by the kitchen along the wood towards the bathroom before abruptly stopping for a few seconds before heading towards me, fear takes over and I quickly shuffle back before my back hits the wall next to the window and I gasp in pain, I suddenly hold my breath as the scraping stop's right under my feet and I hear a low guttural growl, twisting my body to the right, I steel a glance out the large window, looking down on to the forest floor, it didn't say anything about there being bear's in this wood's, wolves, yes but a wolf is not going to be able to reach the underside of this tree house, but I can't believe what I see walk out from under the tree house, my mouth hangs open in shock, there making his way from under the tree house is the biggest man I have ever seen, his body full of muscles, I flinched back with a gasp as he suddenly turned and looked up at me, all I could see were solid silver eye's looking at me before he starts heading to were the tree house door is.
