Based on Machine Gun Kelly song: My Ex's Best Friend

Sebastian p.o.v:

"The hell are you doing in there, man? We're running late!" I took a look at the watch and hurried out of the bathroom; we should have left ten minutes ago. Chris was definitely going to kill me.

"Sorry, sorry, bad hair day," I said grabbing my phone and wallet while Chris groaned pushing me out of his apartment. In the lift, we took a look in the mirror and high-fived with a smirk. "Man, oh man, we look good" stated I, imitating Anthony while laughing and Chris snapped a picture of us. We were heading to the opening of a new club in Soho, the dress code said formal but not black tie, so we opted for a shirt and dark trousers, nothing too formal, but rather elegant and comfortable for a party night.

"You should've opted for a darker shirt and not the white one, you are gonna get it stained with the first drink" Chris frowned his eyebrows and punched me in the arm. "Auch" I muttered giving him a confused look. "You chose this for me, you idiot" he pointed out and I shrugged my shoulders. "I said you looked better, not that it was a good idea to wear it to a nightclub." I hurried out of the building followed by him cursing my name and jumped in the car before he could punch me again.

My phone rang a few times and before I could take a look at the notifications, I heard Chris gasp and his enormous hand hitting me in the chest. "You are so not gonna like this" I looked at him confused and he placed his phone in my hands. On the screen appeared a picture of Jade, my ex-girlfriend, posing on the carpet of the club we were heading to with another man. I grunted and checked my phone without a word.

Jade's and I's relationship hadn't been the healthiest, fighting was constant, we argued over the most ridiculous thing, and it got to the point where neither of us could bear the presence of the other. We still held on to stupid things to avoid the breakup, and everything that came with it, but when I found her in bed with the man in the picture I was done. It was the last straw, I had a minimum of hope that maybe we could fix what was broken, but trust cannot be rebuilt. So I broke up with her, we had a nasty fight, told each other all we had reprimed and moved on. That was four months ago. Now she was still with that man, and I was happily single. "The night just turned more exciting" I murmured with a smirk when I saw that Lilith was also at the event.

I could feel Chris staring at me while I reposted the picture he had posted in his stories and answered Anthony's messages. He couldn't come to the event due to being in L.A but he and Chris must have been talking because he knew about Jade and Lilith being here and was warning me to be careful. I was definitely going to be avoiding Jade at all costs, but if I saw her messing with Lilith, I would intervene, and Chris knew it. "Alright, time to make an appearance" stated Chris exiting the car.

I followed behind with a wide smile and started waving to the screaming fans behind the fences. We took our time to take a couple of pictures with them and then we were rushed to the black carpet. I had not missed this part one bit, and even less doing it alone. The rush, the flashes, the screams of the photographers, and the constant questions were the death of me. I could feel the knot in my throat and the anxiety running through my veins. I put my right hand in the pocket and started playing with the little toy in my keys trying to calm down while smiling and following the directions.

The screams suddenly got higher, and I turned my head trying to see who had arrived, but a group of people were around them. I sighed relieved that the attention was now placed on someone else and kept doing my thing. I moved to the press zone where I was bombarded with questions about the next Marvel film and, of course, what I thought about Jade being here with Aiden, her new boyfriend. My answers were feeble and effortless, they were the last thing I wanted to talk about, it was a topic that irritated me, not because it hurt -it never really did- but because my life was much more than a relationship with no real meaning to me. My heart was racing fast, and I started chewing on my lip until I felt a bit of blood and my jaw clenching. My eyes moved from the reporter to my sides looking for Chris, but he was nowhere to be seen. I was completely lost, I could barely hear the other reporter's questions, due to the buzz in my ears, and my legs were rather shaky. All I could think about was getting out of there, but I didn't know how until I felt a hand caressing my arm softly.
