in the beginning

hello there my name is Elizabeth griffin and this is my story

Elizabeth's pov

mom and dad weren't always on the same page i guess that's why he's dead now, after my father and me and my little sister tried to tell the people of the ark that there wasn't going to be enough oxygen to live long they floated him and because me and Clarke weren't old enough to be floated they put us in isolation, me and Clarke were different in many ways but we had one thing in common our love for our people and for drawing

my cell wasn't anything special it had a bed if you can even call it that, the room had a small table and two chairs the door was grey and it had a small gap to give me my food and for the rest the room was a lighter shade of grey, just like Clarke i had drawings but not all over the room i only had drawings on one wall, i was a lot more organized than Clarke i guess it's because of my OCD but there was one drawing that i didn't draw on the wall but on the ground of the cell it was a woman she was beautiful a goddess even i had seen her a lot in my dreams she had told me that her name was Lexa a beautiful name for a beautiful woman as i would say 

i was drawing another painting of her, shading her warpaint on her face she looked much like  racoon i thought it was funny i can not help but think of earth as i close my eyes, i can feel the sun on my face i see trees around me a field of wildflowers and there scent on the breeze as the goddess like woman stands in the field of flowers it was a beautiful, in that moment i was not stranded in space

 it has been 97 years since the nuclear apocalypse killed everyone on earth leaving the planet simmering  in radiation fortunately there were survives, 12 nation's had operational space stations at the time of the bombs, there is now only the ark one station forged from the many we're told the earth needs another 100 years to become survivable again, 4 more space locked generations and people can come home to the ground, that's the dream but this is reality i think and then my door opens and two guards come in "prisoner 327, face the wall" reality sucks "what is this what's going on" i say facing the wall "quite hold out you're right arm" the guard says as they open a suitcase with a few electric bracelets "this can't be right it's not my time i don't turn eighteen for another few days you fools" i say facing them "hold out your arm" the guard says again on the ark, every crime no matter how small, is punishable by death unless you're under eighteen  "you're watch" the guard says holding out his hand "no it was my father's so back off" i say holding my hand "take it off" the guard says angrily and grabs my hand harshly "no" i say grabing  his hand and taking it off of mine "hey" the other guard says turning on his electric beating stick "no" i say running off but the guard grabs me but i push him back and running out of the cell 

juvenile  offenders get put here lockup but we call it the sky box i could see all of the other kids out of there cell and i look around to see if i can find Clarke but then the door opens and a guard comes out "prisoner 327" the guard says as i run off and i see Clarke and i go and hug her "Clarke" i say relived "El" Clark says letting go and grabing my hand "lets go" Clarke says but before we could "Clarke, Elizabeth stop" the woman says and i could only recognize her as my mother "stay here" she says to the guards "mom" Clarke asks "mom, what's going on" i ask my mom as she raises her hand to tell the other guards to stay were they are and hugs us "what is this" i ask again but angrily "they're killing us all, aren't they to reduce the population to make more time for the rest of you" i ask still angry "Elizabeth Clarke none of you are being executed, you're being sent to the ground all 100 of you" she says reassuring us "what, but its not safe" Clarke says scared "shh" my mom says "no no, we get reviewed at 18" i say trying to reason with her "the rules have changed  this gives both of you a chance to live" mom says before i could say anything back she started talking again "you're instincts will tell you to take care of everybody else first, just like you're father, but be careful" my mom says looking me in the eyes "i can't lose the two of you too, i love both of you so much" my mom says and then a guard shoots me with a sting gun and my mom caches me  "earth, Elizabeth, you get to go to earth" my mom says "why did you that" is the last thing i hear and then everything goes dark
