"Suga-!" Asahi called from the kitchen as Sugawara moved to his feet. "Yeah, I'll get it!" It took him no less than 10 seconds to get to the door and open it.

A smirk was received from Daichi as Sugawara only groaned at the face. "I hate you."

"Good to see you too." Daichi nodded. Sugawara furrowed his brows, kitting them together before stepping out of the way. "Finally letting me in?"

"I'll lock you out if you don't fucking hurry up," Sugawara growled. "Some people have better things to do than stand like doormen for assholes like you."

"If anyone's the asshole, it's you." Daichi furrowed his brows as he stepped inside, earning an eye roll from Sugawara as he closed the door. "Ah huh," Sugawara nodded. "Sure." Suga walked for his room as Asahi removed himself from the kitchen.

"Don't mind Suga, he's defensive." Suga rolled his eyes at the comment before more followed. "Suga, come watch a movie with us."

"Is that what guys do nowadays?" Sugawara rolled his eyes, Asahi leaning against his door frame with crossed arms. "You usually say yes."

"Sorry Asahi, not tonight." Sugawara shook his head. "I'll watch one tomorrow night." Suga stood from his bed, moved to his wardrobe and placed on a hoodie. "Where are you going?"

"A walk," Suga answered. "Shouldn't be too long, though I may go to Tooru's," He shrugged, pushing past Asahi. "Don't worry, I have my phone," He showed Asahi the device before pocketing it and walking for the door. "I'll see you when I get back."

"Alright."

---

Sugawara took a breath. Walking the campus alone - and at night - seemed to have a different feel. Like the world wasn't quite ready to collapse down on the weight already present against his shoulders. Like he could get a one way ticket out of a hell hole for at least an hour or two. Like thinking wouldn't get him killed or judged.

Like he could finally breathe in without the threat of his lungs giving in on him.

Like everything seemed to be okay for the night.

---

"Suga? Why are you out here in the cold?"

Sugawara looked up, towards the male owning the voice. Brows knitted together when he found out who it was. He dropped his head, the male sat beside him. "You should go," Sugawara spoke, almost vulnerable. "It's cold out here, you could get sick."

"Says the one also here," The male chuckled. "Why are you out here anyway?"

"Daichi's over at Asahi's, staying the night," Suga hugged his legs after pulling them to his chest, laying his head down. "I didn't want anyone to bother," He shrugged. "Didn't need a place to stay."

"Suga-" "No, Oikawa, it's fine, I like it out here."

Oikawa fell quite after giving a single grunt in response, Sugawara winced. "So," He paused. "Why are you out here? Last I checked, Oikawa Tooru wasn't a fan of the cold."

"I'm not," Oikawa sighed, eyes fixed on Suga. "But Asahi texted Kuroo knowing he was my roommate," The male rolled his eyes. "So I came looking."

Sugawara sighed. "Asahi said you've been out for hours, he was worried."

"I'm fine," Suga insisted. "Just wanted to get away from that fucking asshole."

"Daichi?"

"Yeah, he isn't as sweet as people think."

Oikawa frowned. "You look exhausted, Koushi."

"I'm fine." Suga nodded again, this time sitting back against the wall Oikawa found him leaning against. "Behind the dorm buildings, leaning on a wall, at three in the morning, and you claim you're fine?"

"Yeah, because I am."

"Suga-" "Oikawa, trust me, I'm fine." Sugawa sighed, glancing at Oikawa before sending a kiss to Oikawa's cheek, then finally standing. "I should get back to my dorm," He hugged himself, Oikawa still stunned against the ground. "Asahi's worried again."

He pulled Oikawa to his feet, giving his cheek yet another kiss before finally turning to walk off. "Do you want me to walk you home?"

"I'll be fine."

"Text me when you get there."

Sugawara nodded before finally walking home, hugging himself the whole way.

---

"Suga!" Two raised voices met him as he stepped inside. "Sorry, Asahi, lost track of time." He admitted before glancing at the other, though never saying anything and walking off.

Collapsing, fully clothed against his bed, he laid face first in his pillow. "Suga?"

"What the fuck do you want?"

He knew that voice didn't belong to Asahi. Asahi's voice was deep, but not this raspy. Asahi's voice always had a hint of 'I care about you', this one had everything but that. This one Suga hated. This one Suga wanted to avoid. Wanted it to leave.

"Are you okay?"

"Perfectly fucking fine."

"Seriously." The voice became stern and Suga forced himself to sit up. "Don't act like you fucking care, alright? We both know you have more to worry about than your best friend's roommate." Sugawara snapped before looking off.

"That's the case for most." The male stepped inside the room, moving to sit against the end of Suga's bed.

"I hate you."

"Mhm." Daichi nodded with an eye roll, Sugawara's head dropped in his hands. "Why the fuck are you doing this?"

"Because, usually you're cool and collected," Daichi spoke. "But you look like you're about to lose every inch of it." Suga looked off, his jaw clenched tight.

Moments of silence passed, Suga shifted against his bedhead, Daichi stayed where he was. "What about," The male suggested, getting Sugawara's full attention. "A hug."

"You're a weirdo, no."

"Twenty questions?"

"Fine."

"Cool," Daichi smiled, glancing at Sugawara. "Question one, what's your favourite piece of clothing?"

Sugawara rolled his eyes. "Fucking lame."

"Answer the question!"

"Uh, oversized hoodies," Sugawara paused. "Your first question is, what's something you did that you wish you could undo?" Daichi paused in thought before answering. "Meeting my ex."

"Fair enough-"

"Question two," Daichi paused. "Do you like when a woman flirts with you?"

"No." Sugawara managed a chuckle. "What? Why not?"

"I'm gay."

"Oh-"

"Yeah," Sugawa paused as he looked off. "Question two for you, what's the most reckless thing you've ever done?"

"Punched a wall, broke my knuckle."

"Why?"

"I was annoyed at someone."

Daichi shrugged. "Which celebrity annoys you the most, and why?"

"Harry Styles."

"No thought into that one."

"His songs are shit and really cheesy, and his voice annoys me," Sugawara managed a chuckle. "If you could be one Disney Villain, who would it be?"

"Flynn Rider, he's hot."

"Does he count?"

"He's a wanted criminal, remember he stole the crown from the castle!"

"Okay- very true, I'll let you have it." Sugawara chuckled again.
