bonesburough is a strange place but nightvale is stranger

a stranger in a strange place

amity was giving luz a tour of the greater bonesburough area when all of a sudden a strange black portal appeared in the woods. 

the two girls curious decided to check it out confused by its presence. 

" what in the world could this be ?"\

amity said clearly confused by the portals presence 

" well, it seems really creepy. I sence something bad about it. we should go somewhere else " luz said luz grabbed amitys hand lightly and began to walk away from the portal when a strange squirrel jumped unto luz's face sending her nad by proxy her girlfriend with her into the portal the two girls screamed as they fell into the portal the darkness enveloping their bodies.  the portal was a dark spiraling slimy tube that was cold and clammy. the girls fell clinging to each other as a lifeline as they plummeted to the ground.

when they reached the ground a man who was not short but was not very tall was standing before them.  around them seemed to be an old-fashioned radio station booth. the room had pictures of a cat? a creature framed on the walls as well as a picture of a different man. he was dressed in a lab coat and was smiling in the photo. 

but the man before them was interesting he had what seemed to be an old pair of headphones on his head and in his handheld radio microphone. without much acknowledgment the man began to explain exactly what he perceived had happened to  people that he regarded as listeners . he began 

" dear listeners it seems as if something has fallen out of the mysteriously creepy portal that had manifested itself in my office. it appears to be two young girls,  one seemingly human looking with lavender hair in a short cut and the other also seemingly human though more so than the other being a brunette with even shorter hair,  clinging to each other for dear life after being hurdled through a portal . ... strange. but as any good citizen I must welcome our otherworldly guests properly . . hello there "

the man now was staring directly at them his eyes seeming to pierce right through their bodies. this man while friendly was also somewhat terrifying 

" I see. listeners it seems as if that was not a good idea as our mysterious otherworldly guests are now cowering in the corner of my office. no no no that won't do at all. so as I do so many times  I will send you my dear listeners to. THE WEATHER  ." 

  with that, the man pressed a button on his soundboard and turned toward the two girls. 

" I'm sorry about that but I just can't keep my eager listeners waiting. my name is Cecil palmer may I inquire as to the nature of your visit creatures  you must trust me that I mean you no harm "

" amity blight," she said as she extended an arm to shake cecils already extended one 

" and you ?" Cecil said turning to look at luz 

" luz noceda  ... where are we ?" 

" well you are in a little town in the desert we call night vale "

" Is this the human realm ?"

" why of course it is where are you two young ladies from ?"

" I'm from Connecticut and amity is from a place called the boiling esiles"

"most fascinating you might wanna have a talk with my boyfriend Carlos he's a scientist and he is also not from here he might be able to help you. "\

 he smiled warmly at the girls 

" just don't go anywhere off the path of this map. don't look at any hooded figures and don't think or talk about anything you may or may not see. and remember if you see any figures that look like angels and are angels, angels don't exist.  intern Janice could you help these kids to Carlos's house "

and with that, the two made their way over to Carlos the scientist's house escorted by intern Janice who the entire time was shaking with fear. or was it concern no one could really tell. 

finally, they made it to the house . the trip was treacherous and odd. the sky was lilac and there was an infinite void up there and if you looked at it for too long you began to scream out in terror. there was a five multicolor-headed dragon who was arguing with .. himself maybie it was hard to tell. 

knocking on the badly painted white door an objectively attractive man answered the door he looked at them for a  whole minute before grabbing something from behind amitys ear. it was a piece of paper that had not been there before. the man read the piece of paper before stepping to the side and allowing the girls to go inside the house.
