Proposal

Everyone thought that Renjun would be the one to propose, their friends and families actually had a bet going with each other, so when Mark was actually the one to propose Chenle, Jisung and Jaemin ended up with a lot of money

Mark actually proposed twice because the first time he didn't really mean it, he didn't have a ring, it was all very spontaneous.

It was on their 2nd anniversary and Mark and Renjun were baking together, well Renjun was baking and Mark was just sitting on the counter watching him. Mark got off the counter at one point and picked Renjun up into a hug

When he put him down he said "Marry me in the future" and Renjun just smiled and agreed. They had both thought about marriage before but never really discussed it with each other

When Mark really proposed it was four months later, he asked Chenle and Jisung for help, he was terrified of Donghyuck and didn't know Yangyang well enough, they were both ecstatic. For one it would mean that they won the bet and two their best friend was going to get married

Mark didn't want to propose in a cliche way, like at a restaurant and put the ring in a glass of champagne, he wanted to be unique and original. But life got the better of him and he couldn't think of anything so he went back to the start, their first date, and he re-created it

Renjun thought Mark was trying to be romantic, and he was right he just had no idea that Mark was trying to propose

The water was freezing like it was on their first date but Mark did the same thing, make sure Renjun stayed warm

When they got out Renjun went for their towels and turned away from Mark to put his on, Mark took that opportunity to get down on one knee and get the ring out, Renjun didn't turn around for another few minutes and Mark was getting tired

Eventually Renjun turned around and saw Mark, he stood their gaping at Mark down on his knee and Mark tried to give a whole romantic speech

"Huang Renjun you know I've never been good with words so I'm sorry but I love you, I love all your little habits, I love waking up to you each morning, I love that my mind is constantly plagued with thought of you" he paused to take a breath "God, I want to fight everyone who's ever hurt you and I know that was me too. You are everything I want and need in my life and I honestly could never see my life without you in it"

by this moment Renjun had tears falling down his face he knew he was going to say yes he just wanted to see how much longer Mark could ramble on for

"I love you on purpose, I thought love wasn't a choice and it isn't but I keep loving you everyday because I want to and I need to. You know when we are apart you come back to me in my dreams, That when I sleep, I see you, the way you pout in your sleep, the mole on the back of your neck that is shaped like a small heart and when I wake up in the morning, it feels like I've just been with you"

"I'm so hopelessly and irretrievably in love with you" Mark concluded, sure he could say so much more but he'll save that for the wedding vows

"so Renjunnie what do you say you wanna get married" Renjun smiled and dropped down to kiss him, Mark in that second knew his answer

"guess I beat you to it" Mark said when they pulled away from the kiss and Renjun, he laughed, he was so in love with Mark
