THE ALL DAY FESTIVAL WAS OPEN to the entire kingdom and it's people. it stretched from the courtyard all the way down into the town where the citizens and visitors could enjoy themselves in all of inarizaki's glory.
the princess found herself standing before the doors to the terrace that overlooked the courtyard, preparing herself for the opening ceremony. by her side was her family of course and the guards were right behind them. the rest of the guests from other kingdoms would be in the courtyard with the other citizens.
at the sound of the horns, the doors opened to the terrace, indicating the start of the opening ceremony. walking forward, y/n looked over the railing and saw everyone's gaze up towards her and her family.
oh god, that's a lot of people. thank goodness i'm not giving the speech.
cheers immediately erupted at the sight of the royal family. the kingdom of inarizaki lived as proud people, that includes those of non-royal blood.
"people of inarizaki and our beloved guests!" the king held his hand up and the crowd went silent in respect. "we are gathered here today in celebrations of my daughter moving into the next stage of her life. please enjoy this day of festivities to your heart's content. there will be food, game booths, and much more! don't forget to catch the fireworks show occurring an hour after the sun has set."
that concluded the brief introduction as confetti flew into the air and people began exiting the courtyard. while there have been many public festivals at inarizaki, y/n always spent them with suna at a distance for safety reasons. but this time around, the princess wanted to fully immerse herself in the fun.
"suna," she called and the bodyguard immediately turned to her, giving her a goofy smile.
"yes, your highness?"
"how do you feel about having the day off?"
"what do you mean, princess?" suna stepped closer to her.
"i mean, you are free to enjoy the festival. you don't have to stick by my side the entire time." y/n pat his shoulder and walked passed him, "go hang out with the miya twins or something, you've been working hard lately."
