SAKUSA WOKE UP EARLIER THAN USUAL as today was the sporting event and he had to prepare himself...to win, obviously. he groaned as the sun was barely peaking through the window of his designated room.
the prince of itachiyama was a routinely person who was dedicated to his tasks through and through. once he begins something, he never leaves it unfinished. some may say that his work ethic is strong while others say that it is an obsession. sakusa went through his morning routine, showering, brushing his teeth, fixing his hair, and changing his attire, making sure to put on his mask and gloves.
his hunger took over him and he decided to go the dining hall to get a meal. since each guest was on their own schedule, the dining hall was closed and the kitchen was open that had a smaller dining table and seating at the counter. realizing the dining hall doors were closed, sakusa groaned walking through the halls trying to find the kitchen.
"lost?" someone called out.
assuming they were talking to him, he turned around to the source of the voice and saw the princess standing there, holding a book in her hands.
"no," he squinted his eyes into a scowl.
y/n grinned and walked closer to sakusa, "i don't like people who lie to me."
the man gulped at his mistake, "well good thing i'm not lying to you."
"oh really?" the princess crossed her arms, tucking the book under them in the process.
"yeah," sakusa fidgeted with his gloves, "i'm just exploring a bit of the castle while hoping to eventually stumble across the kitchen before the tournaments."
before y/n could reply, a grumbling noise came from sakusa's stomach. she rose an eyebrow at the guilty looking prince and smacked his head lightly with her book.
"kitchen's this way," she started walking the opposite direction sakusa was going to walk in. "you're lucky i was on my way to breakfast too."
reaching the kitchen, there wasn't anyone there but those two and the cooks. y/n sat at the counter and sakusa followed, sitting across from her.
