Anna's POV

Beep.

Beep.

Beeppp.....

Something was wrong when I opened my eyes. I wasn't in the guest room, I was in the white room. All white. Everything is white..... Like heaven. Then it struck me, the nauseating smell.

Where I am?

I tried to sit and looked around... And, encountered the furious forest-green eyes.

"You used MY money." He mocked me.

Those forest green eyes held anger, and any other emotions were missing. He is sitting in front of me after 3 years, with rage.

"I think you have lost your mind...." He walked toward me like he was about to attack me.

"Why I am here?" I asked, hoping that he would showcase at least a fake concern to his wife, the mother of his children. But no. I was disappointed with his ignorance.

James Carter did what he loved... He loves to insult me. He stretches out his hand to my neck, which later travels to the south of my neck and stops at the entrance of my cleavage.

He slowly invaded my zone of comfort with his cold, hard hand and finally, halted on my breast... Inside my hospital gown. "You have bigger boobs now." He laughed, disrespecting my body parts.

I tried to retreat from his touch. But he grabbed my breast with power.

"Don't be shy... I have seen... All of your body. And it's better now. But I don't want it. You are no fun." He mocked.

Whimpering in pain of disrespect, I caught his hand to remove his hands.

"We will talk about this once we are home." He mumbled and left the room.

Looking around, I realized I was in a private room. This is strange that he even bothered himself and decided to meet me. I am the person that this family has been trying to avoid like people avoid a plague.

I wasn't granted a grand wedding. Mrs Carter forced me to wear a wedding gown and arranged for my make-up so that James would find me attractive enough to make a baby with me... This was my wedding day, with no one, only Mrs Carter, my mother and just bride and groom with two lawyers... In the conference hall.

That was the last day, I got the luxury to communicate with humans. After that, my life is captured in the wall of the mansion and sometimes, the hospital. Norma and Daniel brought the groceries; and other staff... They never talk to me... Never.

Norma is special to the Carter family, as she was once the caretaker of James, hired by Mr Marvin Carter. Daniel has been working with the family since his teenage days. The brown couple claims James is a good man blinded by grief.

I believed the Brown couple... I even believed my mother. Not only that, but I believed everyone except the rumors of the affair with my husband. Now, the tables are turned. Everyone was wrong, and the rumors were right.

*****

"How are feeling darling?" Daniel asked me. He treats me like his daughter, that he wanted. Even though, the Brown Couple had a son, David... The couple craved for a daughter. They call me light in the dark tunnel. Norma gave up but depression in her was persistent, refused to leave the owner. Daniel says, I saved his wife from depression, but the reality was the opposite. Norma is the one, who has been helping me for the past 16 years. She is my Saviour.

"Where is Ja... A cough. "Sir?" I questioned, remembering my status. I am not allowed to speak his name.

"He is at home." Daniel was uncomfortable. The night of my wedding when my drunk husband forced himself on me, everybody heard me screaming... Calling for help, but nobody helped me.

The next morning, I heard Daniel and James fighting, which I paid later. Norma managed to calm Daniel because she knew I believed in marriage and I would never walk out of this marriage, so provoking James would cost me much more than they thought.

"Where is Jamie?" I asked thinking about my son. Norma has been bringing him to meet me when James is not available.

"He is with Norma." A deafening silence covered the environment of the car. "Norma wanted to talk to you later, but I think you should know this before you face him..." Daniel spoke.

I gave my attention to him.

"James is not aware of Jamie. It's the news you should tell him." He finished.

I nodded.

This is it.

This is the moment that I have been waiting for almost 2 years... To tell my husband that finally gave him a son. He is a father to a son.

Maybe, we could be a happy family... Or maybe I could walk away with Cherish. I don't know. The news of his affair was like a fire that burnt my little hope left for us... For future.

Maybe this is how my life is supposed to be.

I walked into the mansion with the flower of Daffodils, which symbolizes new beginnings. With another hope of a new beginning, I find my husband sitting at the dinner table with his laptop.

As a teenager, he was my crush. He was the crush of every girl, and he is still the inspiration of all those boys who want sports as their career.

"Stop staring at me." My husband growled and looked at me.

I avoided his gaze and tried to cover myself. Every time, I am alone with him, he drags me to his bed and humiliates me. He calls the bed our matrimonial bed. According to him, this is his right. And I am a good wife.

"I am not interested in you." James chuckled. "You are shy... I don't like shy women in my bed. I like feisty women."

His words were a knife that cuts my heart every time. Is this why he had an affair with my psychiatrist? Is she feisty? Does she give him what he likes?

"Come here." He ordered. And unfortunately, I listened to him and walked towards him. "Sign this." He gave me the pen and threw a bunch of paper in my palm. "You have been served." He added.

I could feel tears at the edge of my eyes. He is throwing away our marriage for an affair. He never gave me a chance to be his wife. These are divorce papers.

"Can we talk?" I begged.

"No." He glared at me.

"Please at least, listen to me. I did what agreement...."

"They found the loophole in the agreement. You are free." He yelled. "Sign them." He demanded.

"Not until we talk." I was a crying mess.

"Fine." His agreement gave me hope for a little while before he attacked me. He was strangling me. "You are not divorcing me then I will kill you. Either way, I want to be free from you." His grip was getting tighter and tighter, with every passing second.

"I... I... Ha.....have... J... Ja..." I couldn't finish the news and closed my eyes. If not suicide then murder, either way, I will be free.

"I hate you. Now," I assured him.

Stay tuned.
