The light was flashing red .I don't know why but all of the sudden I started to feel super nervous .
I mean if I get selected my whole life could change . My best friend sofie said "Okay in 5..4..3..2..1.." I introduced myself and starting to play my guitar to the song A team by Ed sheeran
. I sounded pretty good for being nervous . I just hope that everyone else thinks so .
My name is Maleah and I am 19 years old . My goals in life are ..well to become a singer .
I moved from Texas to California so that I could try and make my dream to come true .
My friend sofie was just smiling at me the whole time . I am so glad she moved with me .
She was one of the people that truly supported my dream .
So when I got to the chorus of the song of A team I started to get a little more cofident in my self .
When I got to the last part of the song sofie stopped the recording and ran over to give me a hug .
To be honest she was like my #1 fan .The reason of why I know this is because she told me .
"You did amazing Maleah !!! You are so going to win that contest !! " I love sofie she is so supportive and is like a sister to me .
Later that night we edited the video so it would look cooler and sent it off to Ellen .
I really hope that I win this contest . It would just mean the world to me .
These next to weeks are going to be a painful living night mare .
The two weeks were finally up and after all that waiting of finding out whether or not my dreams are going to happen or get crushed by a hammer the results were finally here .
As I walk into o the apartment sofie and I shared sofie came running I and tackled me .
She had said that the Ellen show was on and that she was about to say the results of who was going to win the contest .
I was sitting on the couch just shaking and sweating , I have never had so many emotions coming in at once .
"Okay so for the past couple of weeks I have been getting a lot of videos sent in to me .and let me just tell you this decision was very hard to make . " while I was just listening to her talk in my head I just wanted to fast forward or yell at the TV I couldn't take it any more I wanted to know who won . Oh yeah and by the way I am not the best at being patient .
When she was fished talking a woman came running on the stage with an envelope with the results .
This was just starting to get to intense . " Okay and the person that just blew me away with their singing was just amazing !I mean oh my god I have never heard a lot of voices like this girl but she deserves it . " " the winner of the contest is .......MALEAH !!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS ON YOUR BIG WIN !!! " Sofie and I just looked over at each other in shock .
I couldn't belive it out of thousands ..millions of people I had one . My dreams are finally coming true .
sofie and I just started s reaming like a bunch of girls that are at a one direction concept .
That's how excited we were . Ellen here I come . "We will have two guests next week our contest winner maleah and our big celebrity that helped me with the decision will be on here .This will be the person that maleah will be collaborating with . "
" To celebrate your great accomplishment we should go out to dinner ! " Sofie absolutely loves to go out .
It's what she lives for . " Okay but first I need to get in the shower and get dressed . " I said as I walked into the bathroom that we shared . As I took off my work clothes I got inside the nice , hot , steamy shower .
I was still in complete shock that I won out of thousands maybe even millions of people .
I mean who would have thought that 19 year old Maleah Sanders won a chance of a lifetime . The same question kept creeping inside my head . " Who will I be collaborating with ? " I was trying to think of celebrities that she would have paired up with me .
Nothing seemed to pop inside my head . I finished washing my hair and body . When I finished I got out and ran into my room .
I asked sofie where we were going out to eat and she said to dress up . Wow thanks for the help . I opened my closet and started to find something to wear.
When I had finished figuring out what I was going to wear I put on some light makeup and did my hair .
There is not much I can do with my hair because , I have very curly hair . Sometimes I wish that I could just shave it all off because it is such a pain in my butt .
I put on my dress and grabbed some nice heels to go with it .
