Karma finally killed the bitch

It was a warm afternoon in late July as Fox Finnagin and Frances Mackenzie stood on platform 9 3/4 bidding his parents good bye for another term. Curious students looked looked on, they'd never actually seen Fox with her parents on the platform and to no ones surprise she wasn't with them now either. Suspicious whispers arose as a group of especially nosy pure bloods and their parents recognised the women hugging Fox, Birdy NeverDeen, the blood traitor. it only confirmed what they'd all heard about that happened over summer. The queen bitch had taken a fall from grace.

After hugging both her aunt and uncle, Fox and Frankie split ways, him going to find his mates and her, well she didn't really know. This time last year she'd have meet up with her 'friends' from Slytherin and they'd spend the train ride discussing all the gossip they'd heard over summer.

Now Fox was the gossip they'd all heard over summer.

Deciding to avoid the Slytherin carriage altogether she walked further down the platform to get on with the Hufflepuffs, who were nothing if not kind. Whispers followed Fox like a foul smell down the platform and into the train till finally the girl found an empty compartment and sat down, though unfortunately it seems she had accidentally made her way into the Gryfinndor carriage on her search. Sighing she chose a compartment and changed from her summer dress into her Robes with the flick of a wand.

The silence was nauseating, and just as Fox was weighing out the pros and cons of throwing herself out the window into the Scottish highlands the door slid open.

"Oh I'm sorry didn't realise anyone was in here" It was the redhead from potions, the one James wouldn't shut up about, Lily Evans. behind her stood 3 other girls Fox had seen around but couldn't put a name too.

"Oh no it's fine I'll go" Fox was quick to apologise, she knew the reputation she had and the nasty rumours that surrounded her name, they hurt but she deserved it. Getting up to grab her case from the overhead Lily stopped the young blonde.

"Stay, we don't mind do we girls? It's Fox right?" Fox knew that Lily knew who she was, everyone did, but she nodded anyway her curls bouncing as she did and sat down.

The blonde hadn't straightened her hair since the beginning of summer and it was thanking her for it. Although the young Slytherin would never admit it she was secretly hoping Zarnia Finnagin would be on the platform so she could see her daughters unstraightened hair and muggle clothing that was the least bit modest. It would make her furious.

Fox was nervous, an unusual change from the over confident, bordering on narcissistic personality she projected in previous years. Little did Fox know the kindness Lily and the other girls were showing her as they conversed was the least bit back handed. The Gryffindor girls knew the horrible rumours that had come about Fox over the summer and even though Marlene had initially objected to sharing a carriage with a Slytherin, the moody blonde had lost the vote three to one, and because of it Fox had gained 4 new friends even if she didn't know it yet.

"So Fox what'd you do over the summer?" You know how earlier I said the Gryffinder girls were showing our Fox only kindness? Yea nah Marlene wasn't quite sold on the whole befriending a Slytherin thing yet. Now Fox had two options here, A) Jump on the defensive; she recognised the smug grin Marlene wore and didn't miss the glare that Lily sent the girl, but that's what Marlene was expecting, she wanted Fox to rise to her passive aggressive taunts because everyone knows what happens when you back a snake into a corner. Option B) Would be to beat Marlene at her own game, and though option A) was tempting. Oh how Fox loved a good game.

"Oh not a lot Marlene, I read the The Wizard of Oz for the 4th time, learnt how to surf and got a summer job. How about you?" Purposefully leaving out the bit about getting estranged from her family, narrowly surviving a crucial curse and watching her beloved sister die. Fox smiled innocently and Marlenes stare Hardened.
