Chapter 2

I didn't feel like going home yet honestly but I also didn't feel like going back to Layla so I just decided to to go to a nearby park, sit down on a bench and listen to music for a while which I was sure to regret pretty quickly. Because I suddenly saw someone I really didn't want to see at all now. It was Jason and he was slowly approaching me, winking at me excited to see me. He wasn't alone though. Jenny was with him. This scene made me feel so much pain. How she was wrapping her hands around him and smiled happily. I surely understood why Layla wanted this to end. She couldn't stand this either. Of course I know it's disgusting but there was something inside me that actually wanted to follow along with one of Layla's horrible plans. „Hey Ethan! It surely has been a while... I haven't seen you at school that much lately – But I heard others say you were there so... Did I do something to make you avoid me or something?", he asked looking really hurt. „No don't worry... I was just busy that is all... I am really sorry", I replied smiling while clenching my fist hardly. I couldn't tell him the truth. I was avoiding him for a complete different reason obviously. But I couldn't let him know. I couldn't let anyone know. Quickly I tried concentrating on something else. „What are you two love birds doing here by the way?" I asked now even though I really didn't even want to know. „Oh we were just going for a walk... By the way do you have time next Saturday? How about some sort of double date? I mean... If you and your girlfriend want to of course!", Jason suddenly suggested. This left me speechless for a while but soon I remembered that I indeed told him I have a girlfriend a long time ago... Even though it was clearly a lie I told him out of frustration after he told me about his girlfriend. I shouldn't have done that– Karma really came back to bite me for this lie huh? What now? „Sure... I don't mind I guess", I answered without thinking. Why did I do that? I don't have a girlfriend idiot!!! I am not even into girls to begin with... Jason and sometimes Jenny kept on talking for a good while until we said goodbye and went our separate ways. The way home felt ten times longer than usual. When I was home the scene of my again sleeping, drunk father was the first thing I saw. I put a blanket on him so he wouldn't catch a cold, cleaned up the alcohol bottles and went up to my big sisters room. I just quickly checked if she was fine, went to my room and laid down on my bed. „So what now Ethan you idiot?", I whispered to myself. Suddenly I had an idea. It surely wasn't a good one though...
Layla's POV:
After Ethan was gone I had been thinking of some more nice plans and wrote them down in my little diary. „Ethan and Jenny surely will be a cute couple. But not as cute as me and Jason~ Oh! We could go on double dates together!", I said rolling around on my floor happily. I just spend my time fantasising about my future like this until I suddenly heard my phone ring. It was Ethan. „Sorry for annoying you this late but... I just met Jason and Jenny. Remember how I told him I have a girlfriend even though I don't have one? He asked me to take my girlfriend on a double date with them so... What I want to ask... Would you play my fake girlfriend for a while?", he asked. He was clearly uncomfortable asking me this somehow. That's when I suddenly had a very good idea. Ethan as my fake boyfriend... This might even help me with my plan. „Of course~ There is no way I could deny a request from my dear lovely best friend right~", I answered sweetly. „Eh? Thanks– Didn't really expect you to agree that quickly but it's fine with me I guess... It's on Saturday around 2pm. I'll get you at your house so you don't have to worry about that. See you tomorrow at school. Tomorrow is Friday by the way so... Don't forget to do your English homework again okay? I am sure you remember that detention isn't really fun and it wasn't fun for me to have to wait for you this long either.", Ethan started blabbering but I stopped listening halfway through. Mentally I was already on the double date. I will see Jason on Saturday!!! This will be so awesome!~ But I sadly won't be his date yet. Mine will be Ethan and I need to focus on that. For the sake of our plan~ „Hey are you still there? Did... did you even listen to me?", I heard Ethan sighing suddenly. „Oh! Yeah sure. See ya tomorrow ~", I said and didn't even let him finish whatever he wanted to say after that. After that I just went to bed and soon it was time for school again. Nothing important happened though so I technically don't even remember much from what was going on so let's just skip to Saturday ~ The awesome Saturday ~ It was the first time in a while I actually got up happily without wanting to go to bed right after again. The first time I wasn't tired– Because it was an awesome day. So I made sure to look my prettiest now. Did my makeup, my hair, and tried on several clothes until I found the perfect ones. I hoped I could impress Jason somehow. But then I remembered again that it wasn't Jason who was my date but Ethan. But Jason was still there too so that's fine! But his girlfriend is there too... But she is destined to be Ethan's soon anyways so that's fine!
Soon it was time for Ethan to appear. I heard our doorbell ring and a gentle knock on our door which made me sure it was Ethan...
