Tony glided his hand over a well-worn photograph album, his fingers tracing the edges of the cover as if it were a precious relic. Although he was usually known for his focused, unyielding mantra, there was a softness in his eyes now, a tenderness that hinted at the depths of his memories. The book seemed to hold more than just pictures; it held pieces of his soul, fragments of a past that he both cherished and mourned.

He took a deep breath, his voice breaking the silence. "Once, we lived in a sh*tty world—"

"Language, Tony!" Pepper interjected from across the room, a gentle yet firm reminder. She was passing behind the couch where he sat. Her words, however, elicited no response from Tony.

"A world full of war and chaos..." he continued, "... and it's still the same, even now. You see, peace is not a permanent thing."

He flipped open the album, the pages darkened with age, and revealed an old photograph of Stark Tower. The building stood tall and proud against the backdrop of a night sky, its lights glowing brightly despite the darkness surrounding it.

Tony's fingers hovered over the photo, his touch light and reverent. The image captured a moment frozen in time, a snapshot of a life that seemed distant and almost unreal. The scene bathed in the soft glow of white and twinkling lights. The ambiance was serene, with the lights casting a gentle luminescence that made the surroundings almost magical.

"It's beautiful!" said a three-year-old girl, cuddled up beside Tony as she glanced at the photo. Her small fingers traced the edges of the frame, eyes wide with wonder.

"I know," Tony smiled. He leaned his head gently atop the little girl's hair, feeling the softness of her hair against his cheek. The moment was tender, a rare glimpse of vulnerability in a man who was often seen as invincible.

"But what highlights it the most," he said, his voice softening as he looked back at the photograph...

He knew that the true beauty of the world lay not in the towering buildings or the dazzling lights, but in the people who fought to protect it.

"The heroes."
