              Helping Hand

Am I in heaven because it fricken looks like it!

Inside was even better than the outside. Not only did it have old fashion chandeliers that looked like they were from the 17th century, but there were love seats surrounding the entranceway of the foyer ready for anyone to sit upon. The ceiling looked like it was carved by the Gods, having miniature baby angles in each corner of the ceiling, that by just one look will make you want to burst into tears.

I make my way to what I presume was one of the staffs that work here listening to the lady humming away while dusting the edges of the bookshelves. Feeling my presence, the lady comes to a standstill stopping her task and gasping for air while releasing the hold of the duster. It thumps in the ground and we both in sync look to the duster and each other until I hear a small giggle coming out of her thin lips. She plastered an eerie grin that resembles that of the Cheshire cat; really wide and giving me the idea that not a lot of folks check into this hotel. Perfect!

"Oh dear you gave me such a fright" She explained while getting her duster from the floor and coming to the front desk where she continued to dust as if we didn't have a stare off just seconds ago. "Folks don't prefer coming this way, seeing as there better hotels so closer to the town where they can buy their useless knickknacks and what not. I'm surprised one person knows a good hotel when they see it," she said.

I gave her a tight smile, bobbing my head back and forth, to show her I understand. "A room for one please if you don't mind, I'm sort of tired of coming here," I said while looking at the old portraits specifically a small frame with a German boy wearing a sailor suit, and another of a baby riding a wooden horse. Okay then. I turned back at her and realize she's looking at the entrance door like someone was gonna pop in any second now.

"No, it's just me" I sigh.

I waited for her response, but she's now looking at me with curiosity.  Her deep blue eyes are pretty alluring and it doesn't seem she's even looking at my face but..She's looking right through me. I shudder. I snatch the key labeled twelve that she's holding onto, knowing it's the keys to unlocking one of the rooms and bolted out of there and going straight for the hallways of the hotel.  I peeked back to the front desk and see her gone. I shivered and ran for it. I twisted the doorknob of room number twelve and collapsed on the edge of the bed letting out a large yawn. I take my phone out scrolling through my missed calls from mom, knowing her already she'll be calling in the next hour.  Why must you do this to me?

I roll my eyes on the thirteen missed calls from Jason. Delete! Groaning I throw my phone, not caring where it lands. I was about to fall asleep when I sprung from the bed and searched frantically for my purse. No! No! No! I slowly rummage through my pink purse, even though it's futile on finding my wallet. Did I leave it at home again?

OhNo. Remembering I left at home because I thought Jason would pay for the expenses of the trip, seeing as he pays for every trip we go to. Yeahlook how that turned out for me now. No money, and no possible way of paying for this room!

"Sleep, just sleep this nightmare away" I mumbled to myself. For once in my life, I listened to my conscious and slept peacefully not knowing tomorrow will be even worse than today.

The next morning I wake up to the smell of a strong aroma. Is that bacon?  Sniffing the air some more, I slowly get out of bed and make a dash out of the room and into the nearby kitchen. Having my eyes opening and closing I slap my face softly, taking away my half sleep state. I felt a hard object touching the side of my hip when coming in and realized I made contact with the kitchen table. Narrowing my eyes I see the table filled with an endless supply of breakfast choices that looks fit for a king.
