That's how it happened everytime. I, very slowly, very tactfully reached the target, then, out of habit I extended my hand to touch it and within a blink of an eye it vanished into thin air. She was like that. I so wanted to touch her, to make her mine but everytime I got closer she vanished.

The first time I saw her I was happy and frightened at the same time. Happy, because I could finally see her and frightened, because I knew how I failed to save her. She very easily brought out every possible emotions hidden deep inside me, emotions way too foreign to me. One of them being jealousy.

If anyone told me a few years back, that I would go bat shit crazy for a girl, I would've laughed at them. Girls were never important to me, relationships were never my cup of tea, the only things I cared about was my career, my business and my company.

The moment I saw the message from her number my whole body went numb for a moment. "Help", was all it said, and that's what I always failed to do in my dreams. I always failed to help her. I was late, too late.

By that time, I had no idea whether the car was running or flying on the road anymore. The only thing I knew was that she needed to be safe and if she wasn't I would tear every single person around me into pieces.

The rage inside me, that I so managed to keep under check, broke its barriers. Only then I realized what is the most valuable thing to me in this whole world and it took a millisecond to get the answer : Teressa. I could turn the whole world upside down for her. All my life I craved to touch her, craved to have her into my arms. And when I got the chance, I had to ruin it, I just had to.

Every single memory started flashing infront of my eyes. As if I could see them being replayed all over again.

------------------

"Pratima ji, have you seen her anywhere?" I asked. Pratima ji looked at me and smiled.

"You shouldn't ask the whereabouts of wind and Teressa, they are unpredictable you know." She said placing the flowers into the flower vase. My eyes fell on them, lilies. Teressa loved them. A smile immediately spread across my face.

"Yeah, that I know. It's just, it has become a habit to find her sleeping on that chair everyday. Send my food upstairs then." I said, strolling towards the staircase.

"That's not happening. You have to eat here,it's her order. She'll be coming back in a few minutes." Pratima ji said, placing the food on the table.

"Sometimes, I get confused as to who owns this mansion." I responded smilingly.

By the time I came down after freshening up, she was ready with everything on the table.

"Hey." I said folding the sleeves of my shirt.

"Hi." She said smiling at me.

"So, couldn't find you on your usual chair. Busy day?" I asked dragging the chair and taking my seat.

"Very busy indeed. Nilu's birthday is nearing. I want to make it special for him." She said placing the food on the plates.

"Wow. That sounds a real big deal. Now come, sit here." I pointed towards the chair next to mine, the chair where she sat everyday. She slowly placed the plates infron of both of us and took her seat.

My hand instinctively extended towards the tiny curls falling on her forehead and like every other day she tensed. I knew she felt it, she felt the same sensation whenever I touched her. I chuckled at her reaction. However, my fingers didn't know how to stop. They liked every bit of her. Just like my eyes.

Another day, I got inside my room and searched every corner for the cigarette case, but they were no where to be found.

"Searching for something?" She asked very innocently sitting on my bed. Although it was nothing new to find her lurking outside or inside my room unannounced but still my eyebrows furrowed in suspicion.

"Where have you kept it?" I asked confidently.

"I kept what?" She again made that innocent face.

"You don't know, do you?" I asked slowly advancing towards her.

"Nooo.. I don't." She said, biting on her lower lip.

"Is that so?" I asked nearing her. Stifling the smile that was threatening to come out.

"Wh-what are you doing?" She asked finally feeling a little nervous.

I stepped infront of her then towering over her I placed both of  my hands on the sides of her hips. I could feel her breathing turning uneven and her blush making her look even more beautiful.

I brought my face near her ear and whispered,

"Should I buy a new cigarette case or am I not allowed to have it anymore? You should clarify it, shouldn't you?" I asked quietly. My eyes closing on their own accord as my nose starts rubbing itself against the back of her ear. Her intoxicating fragrance hitting my nostrils and making it unbearable for me to control myself.  How on earth could I keep my sanity intact, if she kept on barging into my life like a tornado. She was an addiction I could never get over with.

"No! You can't have those." She finally managed to say in her barely audible voice.

I couldn't help but laugh placing my forehead against hers.

"So you did hide it somewhere. How could I not guess it?" I whispered.

"I....I...." She tried to say but I couldn't let her.

"You don't need to tell me twice sweetheart, your wish is my command. I promise to never touch those only if you promise to let me have you forever instead." I said, as she closed her eyes and nodded her head Yes.

-----------------

The car screeched.

"What's wrong?" Arjun asked.

"Don't know, it's dark outside." I responded while getting out of the car.

And what I saw, infuriated me to a different extent.

"Glass pieces. He thoroughly planned it Arjun. He is planning something big and I can't let that happen. Not this time." I said, clenching and unclenching my palm.

Ritwik had no idea what danger he just dragged himself into. He declared war, he would face the consequences.
