Virgil woke up with a start. His head ached from last night's attack. They'd been about the same thing lately. He glanced at his bedside alarm clock, reading the time.
8:30, huh. He thought. Better than yesterday. He sat up, rubbed his tired eyes, and sank down into the kitchen.
He was greeted with the usual sight of pure chaos. Patton was cheerfully making pancakes while Logan was struggling to cook bacon and yelling at Remus, who was being chased around by Roman for who knows what, and then there was Janus, who simply sat on the couch with a smirk on his face, observing the discord unfold. With a tired sigh, Virgil trudged over to Janus and collapsed next to him.
"Morning Jan." He grumbled, watching the twins run about like Tom and Jerry.
"Terrible evening to you as well, Virge. Glad to see you're doing well." Janus replied, clearly noticing Virgil was, in fact, not well. Sarcasm and lies were practically his first language, one he'd been trying to fix since being accepted into the lightside years back.
"Yeah, not much sleep again." Virgil begrudgingly admitted, remembering the night terrors and resulting anxiety attack brought with his previous slumber.
"Well, to quote my android of a brother over there, 'sleep is an integral part of one's routine'. Between you and me, he totally doesn't stay up reading till 3am." The serpent man replied, lowering his voice to a whisper for that last part.
"I HEARD THAT." Logan yelled from the kitchen at his foster brother.
Virgil and Janus snickered to each other. They'd recently been making a game of trying to make him show emotion. So far, the only times they'd get a normal reaction would be when he was frustrated, furious, or flustered (mainly around Patton). I guess he can give an F, Virgil thought to himself, still giggling like a schoolgirl.
"Virgil, Kiddo?" Patton called out from the kitchen, washing his hands. "Can you go get Roman and Remus for breakfast? I think they went in the imagination."
"Sure thing dad." Virgil called back, sinking down to the imagination. He reappeared in front of an ornately decorated door labeled Imagination with golden engraved letters. He pushed open the door revealing a winding forest path. Virgil shrugged and began his trek into the deeply forested area. About a minute into the hike, his foot snagged on a brambled vine, causing him to let out a loud yelp. The vine began to grow at an insane speed, leaving him dangling about 7 feet in the air.
Too tired to panic, he simply hung there, breathing heavily from shock as he gently swayed. Conveniently, the creativitwins were heading back to the mindscape, when they encountered none other than Virgil, precariously dangling just above them.
"You just HAD to add the snare vines, didn't you?" Virgil asked sarcastically, annoyed at the two sides. Remus was rolling on the ground in a fit of laughter, Roman trying desperately to prevent himself from doing the same. "Oi. Stop trying not to laugh and get me down."
Roman took a deep shaky breath before cockily striding towards the dangling emo. "Sure thing Panic at the Everywhere, but it'll cost ya." He said winking.
Virgil rolled his eyes, picking up on his flirtatious tone and rolling with it. "Oh yeah?" He responded snarkily, "Cost me what?"
Roman smirked his mischievous grin that Virgil secretly adored before replying with a simple, "This," and closing the distance between them with a kiss. It wasn't a deep kiss, but it still had enough passion behind it to set Virgil's heart aflame and make his eyes flutter shut. The prince lifted his arms to cradle Virgil's face as he held onto the sweet sensation for as long as he could before releasing from the kiss. He watched as Virgil slowly opened his dark eyes and whispered, "Good morning Stormcloud."
Virgil smirked at the romantic side. "Cute, now get me down." He commanded. Roman swiftly obliged, cutting the vine and catching the anxious side in his arms. "Thank you princey," he said coyly, pecking Roman's cheek before jumping out of his grasp.
Remus, who had watched this unfold, pretended to gag. "You guys are too cute, you're gonna make me throw up." He cackled teasingly.
"Yeah yeah." Virgil rebutted. "Now come on, I want breakfast."
And with that, the trio headed out of the imagination to fill their stomachs.
(A/N)- Thank you so much for reading! First part and fluff, what's better than that? Also, another quick explanation, Janus was adopted by Logan's mom, who was his foster parent, before they were sides, so they are legally brothers in this AU. Dont worry FNAF fans, we'll get into the Afton part of the story soon enough. Anyways, stay tuned for updates and hope you have a great day!
