Chapter 7

COLE

 After locking up the front door I turn around while asking Lilly a question. "So what did you mean..." She's not there. I look towards the car and see Conner jumping up and down next to the back door while holding her hand. I walk over to them. "Your gonna rip her arm off." I tell him in a deadpan voice. Unlocking the car I open the passenger side door for her. "Go on" I wave her in. "Noooo. I wanna sit with her in the back." Conner whines. I glare at him "Stop whining your not a child." I hear a giggle and turn to Lilly. As I look down at her it's the first time I get to look in her eyes without distractions. I notice something that I didn't before. She has heterochromia. It's very slight. You probably wouldn't even notice it if you weren't staring directly at them. Her right eye is more blue green and her left more green blue. As I stare at them they seem to start to swirl. They are so beautiful I get lost in them until Conner nudges me in the back. Snapping back to reality I realize that he's been calling both of us. "What just happened?" He asks. "I don't know" I say. "It's like everything vanished and I could only focus on her eyes." I look back at Lilly because she hasn't responded to Conner yet. I suck in a quiet breath when I notice that she is still staring at the same spot as before. When Conner sees that I'm no longer paying attention to him he turns around to see what I'm so distracted by. Seeing her in some sort of trance he goes up to her and starts to wave his hand in front of her face. When that doesn't snap her out of it he goes to touch her. "Wait!" I shout at him. He freezes. "What?" He says looking back at me. "We don't know what's going on. It might be dangerous to touch her right now." I reply. "You think she would hurt me?" He asks stunned. "That's not what I meant. We don't know if this is something medical or one of the other powers she mentioned. Either way it's probably best we just observe her for now. Just be ready to catch her if she collapses." I tell him. Three minutes pass with no change and I start to get really worried. I can see Conner is getting antsy too. " Maybe we should..." He starts to say when all of a sudden Lilly gasps loudly and starts to sway. We both hurriedly reach out to stabilize her. Seeing Conner open his mouth to ask her something I raise my hand to stop him. Giving her a minute to collect herself I ask Lilly what happened. In a slightly breathy voice she tells us, "Sorry about that. I was struck with a particularly strong vision." "Vision? Is that another one of your powers?" I ask. "Yeah. It's part of my second sight abilities." She says finally catching her breath. " Does that happen often?" I ask in a slightly anxious voice. " The visions? Yeah. Not usually that long though." She says distractedly. "No. I mean yes. I mean the spacing out. Being totally unaware of your surroundings. That thing with your eyes too." I say beginning to lose my cool. " My eyes?" She asks in a puzzled tone. "Yeah, they started to get all swirly when I presume your vision started. Now answer my questions." " Um. Sometimes yeah. I'm kinda known at school as only being Ally's spacey friend. Oh, Ally's my best friend. I'll introduce you later." She says. "Your getting off topic." I tell her gently. It is at this point that I notice Conner hasn't  spoken for a while. When I look over to him he is once again frozen in shock. "Conner." I say trying to snap him out of it. He just blinks slowly at me. "CONNER!" This time I shout it. "Huh?" He actually kinda responds this time still kind of out of it. "Let me try." Lilly says. A second later he winces and holds his head. "Too loud." He groans. "Sorry but it was the only thing I could think of short of pinching you." She says sheepishly. "I think I'd prefer the pinch." He says wryly. "I'll remember that for next time." I say smirking. "Not from you. From her. You'd probably pinch me hard enough to leave me bruised for weeks." He exclaims. At this Lilly giggles again. Realizing we had been standing here for a good ten minutes I head to the other side of the car and sit behind the wheel. "Come on we'll be late. Explanations can wait until after school." I start the car while they jump in. Throwing the car into reverse I start the drive to school. We arrive with only ten minutes till classes start. The three of us run inside. Well, we jog Lilly runs.

A/N Sorry for another slight cliffhanger. It's getting late but I wanted to get a chapter out.
