The "Villian"

Niki

She paced.

Paced, and paced, and paced.

Ranboo hadn't showed up to the meeting. That was fine, right? She had nothing to worry about.

No one was gone. Other than Tommy.

But that wasn't her fault. Sure, she'd tried to kill him... but it was different. And she realized she was wrong.

Yet she was still seen as a villain, as a bad guy, as the exact opposite of who she was.

Did anyone even try to take her point of view into account? Did they not see what had happened before, what might happen again? If they would just-

"Niki?"

It was Phil.

Philza Minecraft, the man himself. She had the honor of working with him, even staying in his house for a while. She looked up to him, but he kind of scared her sometimes.

"Oh, hey Phil." Niki said, trying to stop her feet from moving. It was hard.

"Listen, I know your worried about Ranboo-"

"I'm not."

"- but I'm sure he's fine. He probably just had to take care of Micheal."

Niki nodded. She didn't admit that she didn't agree. That would make her seem over protective, worried, weak.

Phil sighed. "I know how you are now." He paused. "If you want, you can go check with Tubbo in Snowchester and see if he's there."

Niki's eyes lit up. She tried to send a silent thank you through her eyes, and then ran off.

Snowchester was so far. She ran through the snow, passing through the area of the server where it was a beautiful spring, until she made it to the next snowy biome.

She slowed down and took a deep breath. She straightened herself, then knocked.

There was shuffling and whispering.

"Hello?" She called.

"Uh, coming!" Tubbo's voice called back.

The door opened. Tubbo stood in front of her, holding the door cracked.

"Niki! Uh, what- what's up?"

Niki squinted at him. "Just checking to see if Ranboo is home."

"Oh! No, no, he's uh, he's with... Foolish! Yeah, he's with Foolish right now." Tubbo gave her a not-so-reassuring smile.

"Mind if I come in?" She questioned. Something was definitely off.

"Uh, not right now. Micheals playing. Maybe you can come back later?"

Niki pushed her way through the door.

"Niki, don't-!"

She stopped in her tracks. Sitting there, on the couch, staring her dead in the eyes, was a blonde haired boy.

He wore a dirty red and white t-shirt and tan shorts. He looked almost like he had the last time she had seen him. Golden hair, but now it had a white streak in it. His eyes were a bright blue, but behind them looked like a tired little boy.

He wasn't real.

Niki laughed.

She laughed, pain filling her lungs. It was a mix of knowing that she'd lost it, and pain that it felt that way. She knew he wasn't there. It was another hallucination, like the one of Wilbur, like the one of Schlatt.

They got louder. Louder and louder and louder.

She could hear them calling out, laughing at her. It made her eyes well up with tears and her breath get short. But she laughed with them.

"How did you not get him?!" Jack yelled.

"We can't afford to bring too many people in yet. You'll have to wait a little bit longer." Wilbur tried.

She laughed harder. She sounded insane.

"Niki!"

"Niki!"

"NIKI!"

She came back to reality. Tommy was still there. Tubbo was still there. She had tears down her face. No one could tell if it was from laughter or from crying.

Tubbo took her hand and sat her down. No, this was too much. Tubbo shouldn't be welcoming her. She's the villain. He's the good guy. She messed up so many times-

"Niki, it's really weird to explain, and we don't completely get it either, but first I need you to calm down." Tubbo tried.

"What the actual-" she cut herself off. "How?"

Tommy stared at her. "Yeah, my reaction too."

They tried to explain to her what happened.

"Your kidding." She said. "Your kidding."

"I wish we were."

"So Ranboo is 'dead' and Tommy is back, all because of some stupid book not working right?" She summed up.

"Pretty much." Tubbo said.

"Well what do we do?" She asked.

Tubbo took a glance at Tommy, then looked her dead in the eyes.

"I think it's time we pay Dream a visit."
