Y/N's Pov
I woke up from my nap when I felt a constant poking at my waist and face. I opened my eyes to see my cute son staring at me with wide eyes. When he noticed I was up, he smiled widely and spoke, "Mamma! Up, up, up!". I sighed and sat up, resting my back against the headboard of the bed. "What is it, Luka?" I asked, wondering what got him so hyped up. "Mamma I want to go to the playground! I asked Dadda but he said that he's busy. Mamma please~" He pouted slightly, waiting for me to give in.
I laughed at his request. "Is that it? Okay then. Go get ready and put on your shoes. I'll freshen up." I said. He ran out of the room, squealing and jumping up and down. Gosh, he's too cute.
I walked to the bathroom and washed my face well to get rid of the sleep that was evident in my eyes. I changed into a pair of sweatpants and a tank top quickly to not keep the little boy waiting.
The playground was right opposite our house, which made it very convenient. Our bedroom window faced it, so we would often supervise Luka as he was busy playing in the sandpit. The other moms were accustomed to seeing me half-asleep in sweats and would often tease me about it.
I entered the living to see it empty. Luka must be in the restroom. I called out 'Louis' multiple times to let him know about our whereabouts but I got no response. I checked the kitchen, the spare bathroom AND the balcony yet he was nowhere to be found. I thought of our bathroom but I noticed the guest bedroom's door slightly open.
I figured he's in there so I knock and enter, without waiting for a response. I was shocked to see him crouched down on the floor, his face buried in his knees. I sat beside him and rubbed his back. It seemed like he only then noticed my presence as he flinched away from my touch.
"Louis are you alright?" I asked, hoping to get an honest answer. "Yep, all good don't worry. Just felt a little tired" he answered, his eyes not meeting my gaze. "You sure? You shouldn't overwork yourself too much Lou." I said, trying to convince him. "But Y/N I need to work hard to provide for you and Luka. I want to secure his future-" he tried reasoning but I interrupted him. "I understand Lou but take some time for yourself yeah?". He only nodded and pecked my lips.
"You go have some fun with him. I'll... I'll see you later" he pushed me with a slight smile. "If you say so. We'll be back in about 45 minutes okay? Byebye" I said as I stood up and walked to the door. I stepped out of the room to see Luka standing there with a slight frown. Before I could say anything, he asked, "Mamma, is Dadda okay?". I stumbled over my words a bit but I finally reassured him, "He's just stressed over work baby. Dadda is strong, he'll be good as new in no time!"
His face lit up instantly and he nodded in agreement. He peeked in the room and ran in. He gave Louis a big fat kiss on the cheek and hugged him, "Bye Dadda, see you". My heart melted at the sight. Sure, they had shared many father-son moments before but this was too heartwarming. So I pulled out my phone and clicked a candid picture of them
None of them noticed so I didn't mention it. Luka gave Louis one last kiss and tugged at my hand. "Come on let's go!" he exclaimed. I gave Louis an Eskimo kiss and muttered a quick 'bye'. Though tiny, Luka was quite strong for his age. I guess that's what happened when you let your kid tag along during your gym visits.
I exited the house with my son's hand in mine. We crossed the road, not forgetting the rules, and made it to the park. It wasn't all too crowded, but Luka did manage to spot his friends. "Khai! Hi, good evening!" he greeted chirpily. "G-good eve-evening!" Khai stuttered cutely, not able to enunciate the word as clear as Luka. She was two years younger than him and he was dedicated to playing the brother role in her life.
Luka pulled her to the sandpit in the middle of the playground. They settled down on the mud and built messy sandcastles. I looked around, trying to find Zayn or Gigi, who would've brought Khai. I felt a tap on my shoulder so I turned around and saw Zayn! It had been quite a while since he also was busy with his songwriting. Yes, he works under RCA Records as a songwriter and composer for various famous artists.
"Zayn! Hey, how you doing?" I asked excitedly. He suddenly hugged me and replied, "Hey! I'm doing great, and you?". I pulled away and answered, "Ah, pretty good. Just trying to find a job. You know how it is." I brushed it off with a laugh. He joined in, "Yeah. What about Louis?". My face fell into a frown in a matter of seconds.
"He's okay, just- I have a weird feeling about him. He is totally out of it. I spoke with him a few minutes back, he said it was just stress, but I can't help but think it's something more. Has he ever spoken to you about any of his worries?" I inquire, to be sure. "Not recently, no, sorry Y/N. But don't worry, he is a strong person. He'll bounce back", he tried. I sighed at my thoughts. "Weirdly, that's what I told Luka when he asked me if Louis was okay".He just laughed, "Seriously though, don't think too much about it. I'm sure he's perfectly alright". Oh, the irony...

A/N:
997 words.
So I had this planned for a while now. It turned out to be a bit too huge to my liking so, I split it up. Plus, I had a perfect opportunity to leave it at a cliffhanger.
I procrastinated a bit too much because- well, I'm a major procrastinator. The second part will be a bit angsty (if you know me, you know I love angst). I've never written angst like this, so um yeah, let's hope for the best 🌚✨
Ps. I sat for three days straight writing both parts, and I was determined to publish it on my birthday as a present to myself ✨ Bet, no one does it like me.
I freaking love my cake. It's so dark and colourful and yummy and delicious and-
Okay, I'll stop now.
Goodbye, have a great day!
