While the young teens were going out on practice dates, Hoshinomiya had a date of her own. As a woman just now entering her mid to high 20s, she was desperately looking for a young guy her age. Not an 18 year old, but maybe someone in college.
And the other day, she got a match. She'd been using this dating app Sae had recommended to her, and had been pretty unlucky until about 2 days ago. The guy was young, like 22. He had blonde hair, and bright blue eyes. Hoshinomiya instantly fell in love. They were meeting today at 9, at a new restaurant that had opened up about a week ago. Currently, she was dressed in a crimson dress with a small black overcoat on top of it. Combined with the shiny red heels she had, no man could possibly resist her.
Hoshinomiya burst through the door, a confident stride in her walk. She caught stares from students in the hallway, mesmerized by their teacher's powerful aura. Hoshinomiya called for a taxi, and soon got into one. "To 38th Street, please." the taxi driver nodded, and began driving through the city. As she looked outside, she saw the usual billboards advertising music and such. The city was so amazing to her, she'd never get tired of looking at all of the buildings even though she passes through here every day.
Eventually, they made it to 38th Street, where the restaurant was located. Hoshinomiya got out and paid the taxi driver, waving him off. "Rose? A bit of a fancy name." Hoshinomiya said, entering the restaurant. She looked around for the blond-haired boy in question, but he was nowhere to be found.
"Did he bail on me?" she mumbled. Hoshinomiya reserved a table in the middle of the restaurant, looking at other couples as she walked to it. Bored, she checked her phone, scrolling through social media. It had been about 17 minutes now, and she had given up. Hoshinomiya walked out of Rose, her confidence lost. "Whatever. This won't get me down-"
A ping noise rang from her phone. "Hm?" she grabbed her phone out of her pocket, a notification making her eyes widen.
"Teen saved from abusive home, now in critical condition" As she scrolled through the article, more and more dots connected, and then she realized:
That boy is Ayanokouji.
She called another taxi, and yelled for him to head to the hospital. The taxi driver felt the urgency in her voice, and stepped on the gas. Within a few minutes, they were already there. "Thanks for the ride!" she exclaimed, handing him some money. She hopped out of the car, and went inside of the hospital, where a receptionist waited.
"Hello, what can I do for you today?" she asked. "I'm here to visit a friend of mine, his name is Ayanokouji Kiyotaka." Hoshinomiya said, her formerly straightened hair now a bit frizzled. "Name?" she asked. "Hoshinomiya Chie." The receptionist typed in both of their names, and wrote something down on a card. "23B, to the right. Take this card so you can go back there." Hoshinomiya took the card, and walked over to 23B, where a horrifying sight befell her.
There was Ayanokouji, lying in the hospital bed. He was bloody all around, arms and legs broken. A black eye was present, along with multiple bruises. Hoshinomiya sat beside him, and planted her face into his bandages. She wept, her tears mixing into his wounds.
As a teacher, she felt she had failed. She had promised to help him, and now he's here, probably on the verge of death, because she couldn't read between the lines.
She was truly a failure as a teacher.
