ARIADNE
I chuckle when the man beside me ducks behind the counter. "I think it's too late. She's running full speed ahead."
Adrian snaps his finger before standing to his feet. "And here I wanted to surprise them."
Before I knew it, Myla comes barging through the glass door. "Adrian!"
"Myla!" he squeals childishly before picking her up, tossing her in the air. "How's my baby sister doing?"
"Good! I missed you!" she squeezes him around the neck.
At a more sedative pace, Ilse walks in. "You act like you didn't see him three weeks ago."
But even she was grinning. When Adrian holds his other arm open for her, she quickly steps into it, hugging him around the waist.
"I guess I know who the favorite twin is now?" I grumble, good-naturedly.
"That's not a secret," he snorts, tossing his man bun back.
"You're stupid," I laugh. My eyes wander to my watch, and I frown. "Ilse, Myra. Pyramids in ten minutes. Get."
"Fine," Ilse grumbles before walking away.
"Bye, Adrian!" Myla waves before running after Ilse.
I didn't have to be in the pyramid but decided to join. It's interesting to see what reason Mom can come up with to justify someone's placement on the pyramid. It's not like nobody knew it was based on the moms' actions.
"Wanna come?" I ask Adrian, pushing my chair back. "Mom is probably in there already."
He shrugs. "Sure, why not. I don't have to be on camera, do I."
"Nah. Just stand by the den door," grabbing my phone, I lead him into the studio through the other door. I don't need any of the moms drooling over my brother. Honestly, the women act like they're not married or in a relationship.
"Adrian!" The grin on Mom's face looks like it hurts. "I didn't know you were here?"
"Hi Mom," Adrian bends to hug her. "Yeah, I finished lunch with Aria and thought I would stop by before heading home."
"I never see you," she pouts before letting him go. If the moms could see Mom know her hardass reputation would disappear. "You work too much. Your face has gone pale. Have you been eating?"
"You sound like Teegan," Adrian chuckles. "And yes, I've been eating. I have been working a lot, though. I have a baby to prepare for."
"You should listen to Teegan. A happy wife means a happy baby," Mom chides him gently, hitting him on the chest.
I giggle at that before deciding to save him. "Shouldn't you call the girls in?"
"Right," the smile disappears off her face instantly. She acts like death warmed over her as she walks to the door, opening it slightly so she can yell, "Girls! Let's go!"
"Come on," I lead Adrian to the side, where I know the camera won't shoot us.
"Let's talk about Starbound competition," Mom starts. "Can we have a round of applause?"
"Here comes the magic," I whisper to Adrian, involuntarily clapping with the rest of them.
"Brook"
"Brooke, you blew them away; the people behind me were in awe when you did that handstand twist, but why all the drama with the hip. If you are seriously injured, you don't need to go to your Mother and get everybody all worked up. You come to me, and that needs to be clear."
