HENRY'S POV
It had been a while since I had dated anyone and I might have been out of touch but I was determined to be the best boyfriend to Willow. She deserved that and so much more. Our first month anniversary fell just in time with valentine's day. I'd never celebrated that day before but I'd observed how kids from school made such a big deal out of it. I had been planning it for a week and I hoped that Willow would like what I had in mind for her.
Sadly enough her truck had been fixed after a week so I didn't drive her around anymore. That was okay though because I'd made sure to arrive in school just in time to set up my first step of the plan. I stood hidden between two rows of lockers and waited for Willow. In perfect time as always she walked in and went directly to her locker. She looked gorgeous dressed in a red mini skirt, white cropped top and white boots. She had dyed he hair back to its original brown color that I absolutely adored.
I watched her open her locker and smile when she saw the bouquet of roses I'd put there. She pulled them out and sniffed them her smile getting wider. I knew she'd said that she wasn't a flowers kind of girl but it felt wrong not getting her any. Happy that my plan had worked I walked towards her and gave her a back hug careful not to startle her.
"Happy valentines day girlfriend."I whispered kissing her hair.
"You're too sappy for your own good but happy valentines to you too boyfriend."She chuckled turning around to loop her arms around my neck as leaned up to kiss me.
One of the perks of dating Willow were her kisses. They were addictive and her lips were always so soft.
"I didn't know we were doing valentines."Willow expressed once we pulled apart.
"We are a couple and couples do celebrate valentine's right?"I countered.
"I know but it's normally just a silly excuse used by women to take advantage of their significant other."Willow reasoned.
"Well you're not taking advantage I assure you. I wanted to do this, you deserved to be spoilt and I'm not going to give you reasons to leave me."I explained.
"We've only been together a month Henry so calm down and I'm not leaving you. Who would I share Doritos with?"She asked grinning cheekily at me.
"Glad to know, I'm only worth a packet of Doritos to you."I pouted.
"I didn't say that so don't twist my words but before you assume anymore we are going to get to class."Willow declared turning back around to grab her books.
She put the flowers back in the locker carefully before locking it. She took my hand and led me away towards her class. Everywhere you looked all you could see were either happy faces as they celebrated valentines with their significant other, disappointment from those who didn't get any morning surprises and looks of sorrow and longing from the single ones.
I'd been a member of the single club for so long but thanks to Willow I had someone to share my love with. When we got to Willow's first class I kissed her forehead before quickly pecking her lips.
"Thank you for being my Valentine."I whispered against her cheek.
I didn't give her a chance to reply, just quickly walked away before it became too sappy like Willow was accusing me of. She just had no idea how much she had done for me. I had been slowly downing in a never ending cycle of being bullied by my brother and my parents neglect. Willow was my fresh breath of air and for as long as I could hold onto her I would. I would treat her like the precious jewel that she was because without her I'd lose that happiness that came with having her in my life. She made me happy so I would in turn keep making her happy.
