Bakugou realizes he's actually awake when he's staring at a field of flowers. He has never and will probably continue to never dream about anything like flowers, let alone fields of them. When he forces his eyes to focus on them, they're generic looking and a little faded. Nothing like the typical generic artwork scattered through the lobbies, lodges, and hotel rooms of the resort he's supposed to be in. Which probably means he's not at the ski resort.

He blinks and with the soft throb behind his eyes, it all comes rushing back. The crash. The snow. The giant man who either rescued him or has him locked up in some room to feed to his dog later--

"Oh good, you're awake." A soft voice interrupts his thoughts. Bakugou blinks again, pulling his gaze from the strange pastel flowers down to find a little woman with nearly closed eyes and a bun pulling her hair tight to the top of her head. She's small, looking like a grandmother more than anything, but she's got a white coat on in a room that-- when Bakugou glances at the walls behind her-- are mostly white except for the occasional poster on how to cover your nose properly when you sneeze or how to go about washing your hands correctly. She must be some sort of doctor. Which also means--

"You took a serious bump when you hit that tree."

Right. The guy wasn't going to kill him, he took him to a doctor because he was in a car crash. Bakugou glanced back up at the painting of flowers hanging on the ceiling, wondering if that's so when people do wake up in a doctor's office they're soothed instead of freaked out. It doesn't really work, he thinks.

Slowly, he sits up. His body feels a little shaky, a little weak, which he simply grits his teeth through without a sound until his back is against the pillow his head was resting on a moment ago.

"Yeah," he finally says, taking in a breath. The little old lady is smiling at him. Bakugou glares. "Think I could have figured that one out seeing as I was the one in the car."

He gingerly touches at his head, but instantly regrets it with a hiss as his fingers find the gash he got, thread now pulling it closed.

The woman laughs under her breath. "Yes, well. Kirishima brought you to my office after he found you. Lucky for you I was just getting ready to close up and head home for the storm. Nothing too major, thankfully. That cut on your head is probably the worst of it, and you do show signs of a concussion, though our current conversation tells me it is more mild than I originally suspected. Beyond that you'll be bruised and bang up for a couple of days, but I think you'll heal up nicely. Candy?"

She holds out a bowl of what appears to be jelly beans to which Bakugou only stares at for a few seconds before grunting his no.

"How long have I been out?" he asks when he finally gets his head wrapped around it all, swinging his legs over the examination table, paper crinkling loudly under him.

The little old lady shrugs. "Oh, only two hours or so. I was going to wake you up shortly if you didn't on your own. No place to be for a blizzard, you know. Now before I let you go--"

"Where the fuck am I supposed to go?"

"Hush, look at me."

Bakugou is surprised by how strong her grip is when she grabs his chin, forcing his head down to her eye level as she shines a little flashlight into both of his eyes. If he was feeling like his brain didn't just get scrambled, he might have resisted more, but he was still tired and a little nauseous and this wasn't exactly his first concussion.

She smiles when she's done, letting him go. "Alright, I'm deeming you releasable, but under supervision."

He glares. "Supervision? Who the fuck--"
