it was dark and gloomy out, we stood out of a detention center. raining hitting our faces as man in a suit and glasses explained the situation.
"our window verified the curse womb three hours ago. once 90 percent were successfully evacuated, they made the call to seal off the center. citizens within a 500-meter radius have been evacuated as well." the man now known as ijichi explained to the four of us.
"ijichi-san... question... what's a 'window' here?" yuji asked while raising his left hand up.
"a window is a member of jujutsu high who can see curses, though they're not sorcerers." ijichi said with his hands behind his back as he stared at yuji.
"oh... ok..." yuji didn't sound like her understood what he meant
"let's continue, detainee block 2. at the present, five detainees remain there with the curse womb... if this curse womb is the type that metamorphoses, we predict it will become a special-grade cursed spirit." ijichi said, seriousness in his tone.

'special-grade...' i sweat dropped, we're only first-years yet they're sending us to fight a potential special-grade? it just doesn't add up

all three of us sighed while ijichi spoke.

grade 2. it'll be a close call with a shotgun.

then there's special-grade. let's say you might be on even footing if you carpet it with cluster bombs." ijichi said, which made me even panic more, but i had to be strong.

"that's really bad!" yuji said, while megumi, nobara, and i looked uneasy
"normally a jujutsu sorcerer on par with the cursed spirit would take on the mission. on day like today... that would be gojo-sensei." megumi spoke.
"where is he then?" i asked raising a brow at him
"away on business. he's not someone who should be loafing around the school in the first place" he said

"please just listen to your fears. remember, your mission here is strictly the verification and rescuer of survivors." ijichi said once again.

"excuse me! excuse me, where tadashi?!" a woman asked tryinf to get through the men blocking the gate
"stop! stay back! please stay back!" one of the men said. it was sad seeing that, she seemed worried, uneasy, hurt..
"is tadashi... my son tadashi all right?" she asked with pleading eyes. my eyes started tearing up while i looked over at her direction, it was the same for yuji
"she's a guardian who was here for a visit." ijichi said while blocking the view between us and the woman
"please step away. there's a possibility that someone has spread poisonous gas throughout the center... we cannot share any more details at this time." ijichi said calmly. and with that the woman dropped to her knees and started crying.
"why is this happening?" the woman cried, i couldn't anymore. i ran towards the woman and hugged her.
"we'll do our best to try and bring your son back miss." i said while trying my best not to cry as well.
"thank you..." she said as i walked back towards yuji and the others.
"fushiguro, kugisaki, y/n.. we're gonna save them." yuji said while cracking his knuckles.
"of course we are." nobara said
"we have to, it's our job." i said along with her.
